Want a Rainbow Daytona? Me 2. Good luck. I'm not in any way a serious contender for acquiring one but definitely appreciate the watch. For many of us, a watch is the only piece of jewelry we'll own other than a wedding/engagement ring. I supported a top-end gem Rolex here a few weeks ago and was asked if I'd like it as much as if it were an Invicta. I'm still working on a very sarcastic response.

I would like to see one in person. I’m still getting used to the idea of having the new YG GMT II allocated.

From what I was told previously when asked, Rolex will tell an AD if they are getting a Rainbow Daytona for a particular year. A lot of it depends on the performance of the AD as well. Things like sales performance, number of pieces sold, did the AD invest in doing refurbishments for the location etc. Once told, the AD will then have in mind who they want to offer the watch to hence they will enquire with their customers if they would like to be considered for the piece. If yes, they will have to put in a brief profile of the client to Rolex, which includes their general purchase history as well as some personal details. Then Rolex will have the final say. That was the brief summary I was told. Good luck!

A few points.

1)The rainbow HATES to be photograph. Camera phones will not do it Justice. Your jaw will drop; in person. Generally speaking, gem stones and diamonds don’t shine in a 2D photo.

2) the Rainbow is 100% a tool watch!! more so than ANY watch ever produced by Rolex. It’s a tool to get laid. It’s ridiculously effective in major cities, esp Vegas, LA, Miami, NY…

It would be so much better with only the bezel sertissage. All the diamonds on the case diminish it IMO.

You don't choose the rainbow; the rainbow chooses you. In other words, this is not a piece you ask for; rather you are invited to acquire it

I love this Rainbow Daytona also but I still cannot decide to apply for it.

I have one of Rolex gem-set timepiece (GMT) but I hardly wear it due to the safety concern.

I've seen it work.

Whilst not to my own taste, I can appreciate how well the stones fade through the colours.

All I ask is that you post pics when it arrives

I am sure with your history of Rolex ownership, you should qualify to get one but it will take some wait time to get it.

I hope you get it Jay ! I wouldn't wear it flashing it everywhere I went but just knowing it was on my wrist under my long sleeve would be incredibly satisfying. I could wear it where I live with limited risk of being mugged for it.

Fwiw it’s worth Anthony I really struggle to get steel pieces and have done better with PM. Ss Daytona is a straight up no.

But I don’t want steel pieces anymore anyway :)

The 2022/2023 Rainbow is only available in WG or YG and both with Sapphire hour markers, the diamond hour markers have been dropped. I think it might have been dropped this year as well.

No I have seen a picture of a new one with the new ring around the bezel somewhere. It’s still around :)

That doesn't sound correct, more like $140k. It's around £110k here.
