I think every boy (and girl) should own a Porsche at some point.

Extra points if it's a 911.

Extra-special points if it's properly equipped with three pedals.

Congrats!

X2. As many know, I club raced 930’s back in the day and have a long history with the 911 for 35 years now. I was privileged to know some legendary Porsche race drivers.

I can tell you that most will never be able to extract how good and fast a base 911 can be on the track let all on public roads. I have done everything from Turbos to GT3 and am a pretty good track driver but when I took a ride with a professional LeMans driver in a base 991 with PDK on the track and he crushed everything else running that day. Cars with a “RS” badge couldn’t get out of his way quick enough.
I was stunned how much extra he could extract the performance in handling from that car that had stock suspension and under 400hp. What I’m saying is these cars have gotten so good that your driving skill level will never match a base 911’s capability, let alone anything further up the food chain like a “S”,“GTS”, etc….

In a Q&A when the topic of GT cars and RS level track cars are asked about. He equated how much 911 is really necessary for the better than average driver: You don’t give a chainsaw to a kid unless he knows how to handle a knife first..

Congrats on the call! That's going to be a great car.
I have a 718 Spyder and love it even more every time I drive it. I'm sure you'll feel the same way.
Also, there are some seriously great cars in this thread!

Big congrats!! I can so relate….. last May i got an allocation for an S and it was delivered in December. The wait got excruciating but its incredible. I’d had 2 911s prior that were pre owned so this was my first build. GREAT call on arctic grey as that was my choice as well. I went with the Cabriolet and the manual transmission. It’s so much fun to drive. Pm me if you ever have questions.

Seems Rolex and Porsche go together well. So maybe this is a spot to ask you P guys your thoughts on the Cayenne S Coupe as a daily driver? Mostly looking for input from those who have one already and have been buzzing around in it as as a daily. NOT interested in the 911 v Cayenne debate. Just what ya'll that have the s coupe think of it as a daily.... thx.

You must mean “Cayman S” right?……because there is no 911 vs Cayenne SUV debate. That would be absurd.

This topic better for the “Off Topic” section of TRF. Very interesting and diverse topics over there.
