Rick, many threads on the subject of several SS watches vs a precious metal. And views and reasons for both, but you put that WG sub on you won't want anything else!! I got the diamond face cause the wife likes wearing it also And Porsche guy would be an understatement!! [/QUOTE] That is one HOT car!!!

Daytona size
It's really not that much smaller than a DJII

I'm 6 foot 2 and 185lbs and run the gamut from a 34mm VC up to 42mm in my 7 3/4 wrist.
My "girly" Daytona fits me just perfect, though I did feel my old Pam 232 was a little too clock-on-wrist for my particular liking. aug09-daytona.jpg

I'm 6'3" 230 with 7.5" wrist I tried on a SS Daytona a while back at my AD and it looked appropriate on me and I would buy it just in rose gold i would say it wears flatter than the other rolex sport models but not small.

I love theses posts... Lol. Of all my watches my Daytona gets the most compliments...ESPECIALLY from those who know what it is...you don't see many around here. Oh, and fits me perfectly. I wore a 48mm Corum Deep Hull for a while...a little bulky... But ok every once in a while. I wear a 116520 everyday

I think it's due to the smaller bezel than the sub/gmt. It appeared smaller on my wrist than my BLNR to me, although they are the same size.

its visual illusion, if the bezel was black per sa, it would look larger. Not to mention that a relatively busy dial can give that illusion. Its a very timeless classic. If you have a large wrist, go for al the new large omegas, Breitlings and Tags out there. They will be worth a grand or two in 10 years vs the daytona IMO!

Easy. Forget about daytona. It's not for you. It's too small for a big wrist.

I sold my Daytona because, to me, the case is too small. 40mm dial is fine but the slender case didn't work for me.

It certainly felt light/small compared to my Submariner. But on the wrist it looked fine.

I also thought mine looked small the first time I put it on, but that was a reflection on the fact that I was wearing a watch that was frankly too big beforehand. Right now I am convinced 40mm is absolutely perfect, for me at least.

Its dial is smaller so it wears smaller than other 40 MMS like a sub. It's too small for me too. 6'6"

Mine only looks small on my wrist after I have been wearing my 45mm Panerai for a while. Once that Daytona is back on my wrist, it sure looks and feels good though.

Same here. I like the Daytona but somehow it feels a tad small for my 7.5" wrist. If you are considering a chronograph, perhaps consider a Moonwatch or an El Primero.

Daytonas look great when the bracelet wraps around your wrist. That's why I think the president bracelets on DD/DD II look great especially when they wrap around the wrist, not hang straight down from the lugs because of skinny wrists.
There's nothing "Lady" about the Daytona. True, women are wearing Daytonas but the "new" look of a lady falls into these categories: 1. they usually where it with so much slack it looks like they're borrowing someone else's watch (the man) or 2. there's so much lug overhang the bracelet pulls IN making the watch case look like a parachute canopy 3. Combination of above, when there's so much slack and ridiculous lug overhang a la Michael Kors watches I've seen worn by many women. The Daytona is one watch that doesn't need to max out on your wrist to look great. The PCLs make it look great wrapped around one's wrist. |

It does look smaller comparing to sub, although the size is supposed to be the same. This make it even more a day to day office watch IMHO.
