All the bits. The original punch paper warranty is not filled-out. I guess it must have been fairly common to leave them blank. These are authentic and original though. No question in my mind.

Truly incredible, can't wait to see the end results of the resto, ABC has done some nice work for me, others that come to mind Rikki and Bib Ridley.
Best of luck!

Congrats Jason. All look original and correct for the period. Compare with my 5513 of 1984, ser 8,1.

Serial number 8,04x,xxx which puts it at a production date of late '83 to '84 based on the database from qualitytyme.net

If the 1665 was discontinued in 1980 is it possible u have a 16660 which was made from 1980-1986 and rarer than the 1665...

Production dates are approximate, and the 16660 and 1665 were produced concurrently for a period of time. What I can tell you with absolute certainty is that my serial no is 8million, 1665 is engraved between the lugs, and the case has a small HRV as a 1665 should.

I don't know what to tell you about your production dates.

Didn't mean to put down the watch. I didn't know what the value was compared to the cost to overhaul the watch and band .

I do have to say, Jason.... When I first saw the title of this thread, I thought it said "BARfind.." and I wasn't sure it was going to be about a watch!!

No problem

The bracelet shown on the watch is a Hong Kong special. The watch is exactly how I found it. There will be no repairing this bracelet.

I'd say you have a fair chance at there being further deals like this in your future, since you've built a repore with the gentleman and he knows you're a good customer and an interested party whenever he runs across vintage Rolex.

Very cool story!!

I'll very much be looking forward to seeing pics once you have any restoration work done that you and your mentor think is appropriate.

So cool to find the original docs in the box - what an amazing bonus, my friend. Very excited to see the dial under that 'door-mat' plexi! Get it off! Let me know what your plans are in a PM or email. Cheers buddy, K.

Wow Congrats on your find!! A similar story happened here in Montreal with a 1675 Pepsi GMT. There are still some great finds and stories out there! Cherish it!
