I think Speedmaster looks great on pictures. But every time I try one on my wrist, I’m disappointed. It does nothing for me. It feels fragile. It doesn’t have the quality of finish and global feel I expect from a 9K$ watch.

As for the Daytona, I’m not a fan of the white dial. I much prefer the combination of colors and textures of YG, PN dial, ceramic bezel and OF. And for me, size of Daytona is just perfect. And I have absolutely no problem with lisibility.

Precious metal Daytonas have objectively superior dials in both materials and construction details. Great looking PN!

The Speedmaster is perfection. 100 years from now, it will still be the same basic design, and it will still be perfection.

Daytona for me. I love the contrast of the panda dial.

Never have owned an Omega but I prefer the Speedmaster over the Daytona.

I own both. Aesthetically, the Daytona looks better, but I wouldn’t kick the Speedmaster out of bed!

Speedy

It’s hard to make a nice, balanced chronograph. Omega succeeded. So did Tudor. The Daytona is an ugly POS.

To me, while the speedy is an excellent looking watch, it’s the Daytona hands-down. I think it’s the contrast of the ceramic bezel against the white dial, and over-all proportions.

Aside from the bad pics, the omega is easily the better looking watch and significantly more legible and functional. Unfortunately the antiquated WR rating creates an obstacle.

I much prefer the Daytona. The Moonwatch never told me anything, too flat and without personality: a banal watch.
And then: did man really go to the moon or is this what they want us to believe? If so, the myth of the Moonwatch also falls. Ha ha ha!

That is an awesome model. Sells at quite a premium to its brethren.

Daytona for me. Not a fan of the how the crystal on the Speedmaster protrudes, and also not a fan of the 2 lines going down the center on the bracelet.

Just my personal take - I think the Daytona looks better aesthetically, but I can't tell you what time it is showing without stopping for a second, moving my head closer to the screen, and thinking about it for a moment. This is something that would personally bother me, whereas the Omega is clear as day. So while I do like the look of the Daytona (I mean, it is gorgeous), I favor the Speedmaster, which literally looks like an instrument designed to measure things (which it is).

Speedmaster for me. Legibility, wearability, history.

Absolute strap monster. I change straps on my Speedmaster all the time and enjoy collecting for it. Not saying the Daytona won't look good on straps, but you see a lot more Speedies changing things up.

Plus, there's Speedy Tuesday. lol

For me it’s all ways been the moon watch. Before I know what watches truly were. I always skipped past the pages of the Daytonas in the catalog. I always went to the day dates.
What always drew me to the omega was the flat black dial and the white textured hands.
I’m all in on the speedy.

In real life I would say the Speedmaster.

The Daytona is too small and dainty for a mans wrist and hard to read. Aside from the Paul Newman thing, I never understood the hype around it.
Men have a range of wrist sizes, not sure how you can lump that all into one

That Speedmaster panda just above here closes the gap nicely enough.

Yeah, you can swim in a Speedy Pro when it's new, no problem, but winding that thing everyday puts a lot of wear on the crown seals, so you'd have to get it pressure checked quite often if you planned on swimming in one long term. Just the nature of the beast with hand-wind watches, regardless of their stated WR when new.

I'm torn.

I'm never going into space, and I'm definitely never going to Daytona.

This hobby is difficult.

I’m biased, but the Daytona has never done anything for me. I love racing and have been involved in Motorsport for a long time, but the watch just seems too chunky and cluttered (to me). Speedmaster has an amazing history and looks good on just about any strap you put on it. I find myself changing them all the time which is part of the fun. The one issue I do have with most Speedmasters (321 Ed White aside) is it’s harder to wind due to the crown guards

I'd still take the Daytona. I prefer the Speedy 321 smaller case size and better looking braclet. IMO
