A standard Sub isn't too small for anybody's wrist.

It should only matter what she thinks.

I think it suits you just fine. Wear it in good health!

Looks great to me.

FWIW Rolex will wear smaller from a “top down” or plan view as compared to Panerai. The Sub41 looks about the same to my eye as the SD43 and Dblue from this perspective

Lol, yeah we may need to put the tape measure on those. They would not be allowed at my Country Club.

For the record, I have short legs so I wear shorter-than-normal shorts (have I said 'short' enough times in this sentence?) They are to my knees when standing and like the OP's pic when I sit. :)

It’s sad when it’s actually the right size and people have doubts…

Maybe in the slightly small category according to my tastes
But seeing as you are asking, you probably have some doubts of your own

It doesn't look ridiculously small and is well within reason
Perhaps a 43mm Sea-Dweller will bring greater satisfaction

Not too small, its the right size for you!

The reality here is that you are used to watches that are possibly too big...

It looks good, give it a few weeks to get used to it. I used to have an Omega PO 45.5 mm, it took me a little to adjust to the SD43. I have a 7.75" wrist. I could never go back to 45.5 mm again now, I'm used to 40-43 mm.

After wearing a large(r) watch for any period, there’s always a sensation of size when one wears anything smaller. This sensation disappears after a few hours.

Smaller watches look good on about any size wrist, large watches on small wrist.... Not so much. If your used to the presence of a 44mm, might try the 43mm. May feel more familiar given your size. IMO.

To my eyes that's exactly what a watch should look like on a wrist. I know the feeling though, I'd worn a 42mm Speedmaster for 3 years then went all the way down to 36mm Explorer. It was very strange but I got used to it. Now when I put the Speedmaster on it feels weird!

Unless a guy with a 7.5in+ wrist is considering going old-school midsize (31mm), the answer will almost certainly be: "No."

Looks fine.
There are MANY more people wearing watches that look ridiculously large, than too small.

Absolutely agree! A bunch of folks who to my eye anyway, look like kids wearing dads watch.

Looks perfect to me. I have both Panerai and Rolex, my Deepsea feels small after wearing 47mm but that's the cool part of watch collecting, you have different options that offer different things. The Sub is perfect at that size and love how it wears, and then I throw on a Pam and I love how that wears. Cool to have those options instead of a bunch of small or all large watches, each has it's place and purpose.
