Had the EXII for a few months - never really cared for it once on the wrist. Looked great in pics though.
The proportions of the hands seemed 'off' (to me anyway) and I never could get over the tiny twinlock crown. I realize it was designed with a certain application in mind, however, I just never really bonded with it. Only watch I never did with actually.
Keep the Sub IMO...

I’ve owned and sold both
The Sub is boring imo but the explorer is even worse with the horrible steel bezel and has nothing going for it, I only bought as a bargain price but don’t recommend buying a watch based on a good deal, buy what you like

I would as others have suggested, try to add first and then move one on.

The Steve McQueen comparison for casual doesn’t really work for me as he is wearing a smaller non ceramic sub, not one of the larger shiney ones!
Good stuff. Thanks, bud.

Go for what you like, the Exp 2 is a great choice, the world and his wife own a Sub so of course everyone will be saying how wonderful it is but to me they are boring, at least with the Exp 2 you will have something far more unique.

I traded a Sub for a 216570 and went back to the Sub.

Excellent point. The sub is very versatile looks good with a suit, or t shirt and jeans.

i bought a BLNR on jubilee 6 years after I acquired my sub (same as yours). The BLNR actually made me appreciate my sub even more.

I don’t really care what everyone else has. The Sub is the iconic Rolex watch for a reason and it is not an upgrade to trade for the Explorer II, but that’s just me.
Everyone who says that black is boring, blah blah blah… I have a black car and a white car. Neither are boring, both are the most popular colors. They just work.
I did have a red Corvette once tho 🤔

I'd keep the Sub and add the Explorer II when I can, and I'd love to add the white dial to complement my my Sub, they will make a good pair.

Both watches are great, i just don't think it is necessary to switch watch just because you want a casual watch

It's the perfect complement, IMO. I've had the 5-digit duo for years. I should have just stopped there.

Add the Explorer 2... unless you don't have the funds, then I much prefer the Exp 2 and would do the exchange
