We also took advantage of the opportunity to visit "Bouverne", the Rolex AD in Ghent.
(Trying not to drool too much on the carpet.)
Definitely worth the detour if you're visiting...

...and yes, the Headless Horseman exists!

I took a couple of pictures aswel (mainly of the vintage pieces), but mine didn't turn out nearly as well as Michael's or Maarten's. Nevertheless, I'll post them later on.
And then Bernard said, I am the old one.... Look at the "vintage" expression on his face !!! (Yes, he's the one without a head on top of his body!!!:chuckle

Jim my friend, it won't be easy to do a better GTG. But I do wish you guys have an enjoyable and marvelous Princeton GTG too tomorrow!
Do let the Belgian crew know how yours went !

Damn it! I had the best intentions to come, but the some complications with work messed up my whole week!
I even took some watches out of the bank safe on Monday to have them at hand on Thursday

It looks like I missed out on a lot of fun and some great watches
I promise the next one I will be there!

Hahaha that makes Bernard and myself the "founding fathers" of the Belgian GTG
I am very sure you would have liked the company Zoran. The earliest crew started about 17.30h and we still weren't finished talking watches when we split up at 23.45h .

great review of a fantastic GTG. Ghent looks so picturesque. Thanks for sharing. I think there is a strong case for some of us in the UK to pop over on the Eurostar!!!!!

OMG I get stalked now by Kevin and Paul !

Seriously guys, yes we did have a marvelous time. I've come a long way... a couple of years ago I knew NO-one with the same interest, love and passion for wristwatches. I thought I was a lonely weirdo.
Then when I was on one of my many trips in the UK, I was invited by Paul and Dan to attend a London GTG. A bit nervous first, but you guys welcomed me with open arms and I've been coming ever since (so I must been enjoying it, don't I !). It's a real and nice group of friends now in the UK. And last year I thought why can't we do that in Belgium? And believe it or not... we are building a real (I say real, because it's more fun seeing people and there watches live) and nice group of wristwatchfriends here too!
So I am thinking...If we do two GTGs in Belgium each year and two in the UK. That's 4 GTGs to attend for me! Hope I can plan everything in !

Oh, and yes maybe we need a Belgian-British GTG one day! Mind you...we keep Michael in Belgium, even if he's British. His photography skills are just to superb (so are his watches by the way), so NO we won't let him go

Not so lonely anymore my friend

A B-B GTG sounds like a great plan - we could host the first one.

Bernard, you are now officially appointed by the Belgian TRF-ers as our pre-Basel fortune-teller

And to our American friends "God blessed America and Belgium today"
Obama was in Belgium on an official visit !

The new Pepsi GMT has the American colours by the way. Would they have known in Basel ???

Yep - he stayed in the hotel that we had the first Belgium GTG in (or the attached bar). He came with 900 people, it cost 10million Euros and the hotel is no more than 500metres from my front door, so could turn right, but not left as all streets were closed off - then I saw this on my FB page:

very funny

Everyone seem to have enjoyed last meeting enormously !!!
I have been contacted by most of the gentlemen, telling me NOT to wait till October/November to meet up again....
So what do you think? Shall we do one in between.
Maarten, do you think we can do it in Antwerp this time, as you suggested?
We will keep Brussels as the yearly place to be for our winter GTG.

Would love a spring/summer gtg & I'd definately attend it, if we can avoid scheduling it late May/June & the first week of July (exams). So all in all, I'd be able to attend from now until the 17th of May, and from the 7th of July until somewhere in the middle of August
