Again it depends on context, whether referred to as a group of people or a single unit. They or it.

The vast majority of Rolex customers WANT ROLEX. They will continue to BUY ROLEX. They couldn't care less about any of the jibber jabber we go on about on these forums and the videos.

They don't know a Submariner from a GMT, but they WANT ROLEX.

They don't know who Paul Thorpe is and would probably think watching a YouTube video about watches would be crazy. Who watches videos about watches???

Most of my allies, colleagues and acquaintances wouldn't know an IWC from an Omega...no matter how much money and celebrity endorsement money they throw at Tom Brady or George Clooney. But, they all ask me about ROLEX. ROLEX ROLEX ROLEX.

They want Rolex, because it is the "BEST" and that in turn makes the person wearing one feel they are the "BEST". Money is SAFE in ROLEX. "Why would anyone buy a watch that is worth less after you buy it" ? "Who does that" ??

Once you get out of the WIS culture, it really is just that simple...

So, no Rolex isn't in any danger whatsoever.
Amen!

SOLUTION: Watch his video, but for audio play Pink Floyd DSOTM. It's BRILLIANT!

Always a good reminder. I was at a dinner party recently, one SD43, one DSSD in the group. Asked why those over a sub, and basically because it was available, didn't split hairs and they were happy just to get a sports watch.

Agree....The vast, vast majority of people just want ROLEX.

But I'll the first to admit it's hard for a WIS to see things from John Q Public POV..

The first line absolutely you are right. All these videos, rolex better than omega are rolex in danger, rolex games are putting me off etc is due to the sheer urge of people wanting their watches but not being able to have them. Every company wishes they could market like this one.

Thank you for this explanation, I’ve been confused about this for a while..

It’s possible that the actions of his son may have had an impact on his reputation. Who knows?

If Paul Thorpe and Nico have sold their Rolexes it’s because they are looking at making a huge profit on the Grey Market. That’s what they do. If they’ve sold them recently it will be because prices are going down and they want maximum profit. It would also indicate that the interest in Rolex is still very high. That’s a typical PT offering, he spends most his time talking about Rolex. He gets frustrated at the Ads but ultimately he seems to spend most his time pushing people towards grey dealers and the best way to do that is to criticise Rolex and Ads.

It's not correct so don't believe it. Truth is this guy is using a local dialiect which you guys overseas may find hard to understand.

'Our' sounds like 'Are' with his accent. 'Our Rolex' is what he is saying, Some local dialects will use the term 'our kid' to describe a younger sibling. That's get twisted to or pronounced 'R kid' or R washing machine or R car, or (our car is broken, our washing machine is in use) when you apply an accent like his, our becomes R/are.
You are getting 'R Rolex' which he really means, 'Our friends at Rolex'

It's simply poor English applied to more poor English.
