Yes. Women tend to notice the Milgauss and ask about it.

If nobody is noticing you might be wearing it on the incorrect part of your wrist.

The instabook makes it feel like everyone wants a Rolex. Reality is most wear Apple Watch and that’s also folks with plenty of dough. Younger folks are turned off my the overt displays of wealth that smack of privilege and hierarchy. Moreover everyone has their faces so far buried in their phones they can’t notice anything that does not smack them in the face.

Only my buddies who have them too. Other than that nobody ever comments and I like it that way.

I disagree with this. One of the main reasons Rolex is booming is because many of the Tiktok influenced are wearing them. The younger generation is definitely into them.

Not really except for the bluesy. More comments on that than all others combined.

Just my Doxa’s. I am sure because of the color but can wear all my others; Rolex, Panerai, Breitling, Tag and nothing.

Was recently at a resort for a few days in Pompano. I wear my DeepSea as a daily. I was sitting at a beach bar & a guy next to me asked for f it was real. I said, out f course it is. He holds up his hand to show me an Invicta that was FREAKING HUGE (I thought a DeepSea was big) & proceeds to tell me that his is real too & that he collects invictas. To each his own. I do catch people looking but usually just get a "nice watch" comment.

I think people do notice, but don’t comment.

I don’t want to compliment random guys in LA. I did that once while waiting for a crosswalk light to turn. The guy was wearing a Daytona, and there was awkward silence by him. I moved my wrist so that he could see that I was wearing a Rolex as well, but that didn’t seem to help.

I fly a certain flight fairly often, and there’s an older man in first class with a vintage GMT on his wrist. His wife sits next to him, and I’m pretty sure she wouldn’t appreciate my commenting on his watch.

If I know the man, or if it’s another woman, no problem. I was at a party last weekend, and a man I know professionally had on a stunning, perfect looking vintage Pepsi GMT. He’s 70, and his parents bought it new for him when he graduated from college. He didn’t even know what model number it was, but he said his son told him it was valuable. I made him promise not to sell it, and to give it to his son. I also pointed out to him that another guy at the party had a Milgauss, and explained to him the history of the watch, etc. He seemed to have no idea what I was talking about, and had never heard of a Milgauss, older or newer.

Only two times that I can recall. One time with a speedy when a complete stranger came up to me in NYC and complemented the watch. Unexpected but nice!

Other time when attending a party with an old 16610 I met a fellow watch nerd. It was nice until it was unveiled another guy at the table wore a fake sub! The watch nerd got really angry about that and the atmosphere were pretty cold there for a while.

I've rotated through each several times, but have never received a compliment on them. Not that I'm fishing for compliments, but I always thought even the common non-watch collector would recognize a nice watch vs something bought at Macy's.

Curious if people acknowledge your watch. And if so, what's the one that gets the most compliments?
Firstly, let me complement you on your watches - nice trio! I would notice all 3 (as would most of those here), but might not comment on them- depending upon the situation.

I think most people (that is, anyone not a WIS) don't notice at all beyond that you are wearing a watch (if that).

I do get the occasional comment- most recently from a cashier at the convenience store who said "that's a nice watch- is it a Rolex?" when giving me change (was a stainless SubC date).

Of all my watches, I think the Reverso Duoface gets the most comments- but usually after someone sees me flip it over. It's actually a good conversation-starter move (if you want that) in many situations.

rarely, but when they do it's usually from:
- Rolex = guys asking "how did you get that?"
- Omega = women saying "I like your watch"

I've only gotten one compliment and it was kind of awkward. Was wearing a DJ 36mm and had just sat down getting ready to take off on a flight.

Then another passenger walks by and loudly asks "IS THAT A ROLEX! VERY NICE!" Then half the plane turns around and stares.

If you're going to spend that much money on a watch in the hopes that people notice it, you're in for a really rude awakening. 95% of people will never notice what's on your wrist -- the only reason you should buy a watch is for yourself.
