Hard choice..... But slighty prefference for the 114060.

Love both and would always argue that you need the two if you intend to have a proper collection of Rolex. The BLNR is the better watch, but for a life-long, one and only watch, I have to go with a traditional sub as the purest representation of what makes for a Rolex.

For just one? Sub. But really a coin flip.

I have both but if I have to sell one it’ll be the sub no questions asked. I got the sub after the gmt and while it’s an awesome watch it just lacks the special feeling that I get every time I wear my blnr. The sub is a better everyday watch but blnr is just a bit more special so I vote blnr.

Man, this is a close one!
This is why I voted ND Sub. One, it's a timeless classic. Two, while blue is my favorite color, I would feel compelled to match a BLNR with some other item of blue clothing. As a complementary piece, this is great -- it's exactly why I love my combo of my blue dial DJ 41 and SubC. But as a one-and-only, I would feel odd wearing a BLNR with, say, a green dress shirt and grey suit. Three, I would worry about scratching up the BLNR's PCLs in casual activity like swimming, etc. Finally, while the complications of the BLNR are nice, for a one-and-only watch, I care more about aesthetics. Here, to me, the SubC wins with its beautifully symmetrical dial and classic charms. |

No love for dive watches, lots of love for GMT Masters, so easy, BLNR. If I want a black bezel it's an LN-bezel GMT.

BLNR, no question. Date, GMT function and a dab of color to boot.

I love my GMT Pepsi, enjoy my Hulk however based on comments from all these “old Rolex pros” my next purchase is a Nd sub. I believe it the quintessential Rolex. No collection can be complete without one. I haven’t warmed up to the Batman yet. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

This isn't even a question. 114060 is the perfect one-watch collection. You will not regret it. I travel with mine all over the place, the Glidelock clasp is the most amazing part of the bracelet. I must use the Glidelock 4-5 times a day to get a perfect fit, especially when traveling in hot weather.
Seriously, get one through a trusted seller here on TRF and don't look back. You're gonna love it. |

Currently have both, have always thought the 114060 is the perfect one and only.

The Sub Cult sub-cult is very vocal in broadcasting the idea they have chosen THE be-all, end-all Rolex model as if there's some sort of hierarchy or it's an exhibition of exceptionalism to choose a certain model of watch as if the choice is some sort of achievement. It isn't, and while it may be one's own preference, including your own, that's all it is. It certainly isn't a more righteous viewpoint compared to those that don't agree and, to be honest, it's weird to sanctify or declare illegitimate any collection based on a Sub-presence litmus test as if it's a given. |

Love both and would suggest keeping both. If you have to pick only one to keep then BLNR

No date Sub. More
Timeless IMO; I don’t like the big numbers that crowd the bezel. Sub is More handsome/ balanced |

If you can only pick one, I’d go Sub. The BLNR is amazing, but if you only own one Rolex, it would have to be the sub for me.

I'd wear a ladies' DJ before I'd wear a BLNR. And I'm no lady.

I'd have to have a date for a one and only, so BLNR. Now, if it was subc with date, maybe different story.
