It's not nearly as hard as damasko's ice hardened steel.
I though it was super duper steel that can't be cut even with a ninja blade.

On the other hand, what is that stethoscope made out of? Rolex should be looking at that stuff.

Wouldn't bother me at all. I hope you find peace with the watch.

Sorry that happened. I'm a little amused that people are still checking BPs manually out there. Not to mention the PT sounds like he has a cardiology quality stethoscope when a $10 disposable would be adequate.
Personally I bought my Rolex to be my activity/regular wear piece knowing it will take a beating and still look like the nice sport watch it is. That's what it was designed for, rugged no frills movement, etc. If I wanted to fret over every scratch or ding, I wouldn't be wearing a Rolex, I'd be wearing a Journe or Ferrier.
Good luck with the repair. First of many scratches no doubt.

Accidents happen.... The next scratch will hurt a little less, the following one even less, and so on.....It's inevitable. Unless you don't wear your watch and keep it locked away in a safe.

I think I won't wash or cloth polish clean it for a long time .
The sweat marks will blend in just fine and will make it
disappear ...

After all it's a tool watch right ???

No you should have not bought it if you cant wear it. Its a piece of metal at the end of the day. Just put it in the safe so it never sees the light of the day. Then you can be happy to know that it will not get scratched.

I'm sorry to hear that it's happened. Annoying at the time but accidents do happen. Think bigger picture here... it's just a scratch and you have your health.

http://www.rolexforums.com/showthread.php?t=500921

If you really can't live with it send it to RSC to be polished.

Bear in mind though, if you have it polished every time it gets scratched there will be no watch left

In all honesty, how often do you look at the side of your watch? See if you can live with it?

Right !!! But now it's already broken in ...
wearing it now in spite and trying not to cringe at
the thought ... I guess it could've been worst in
the end and I still do have my health so ...

Not that often really... just knowing it's there irks me.
I guess I should be thankful it wasn't a frontal blow ,
That would've been catastrophic!!!

Sorry to hear but these things do happen with a watch that is actually worn as intended. It's true the first scratch is always the hardest. Are you sure that a once over with a Cape Cod wouldn't make the scratch less visible? Failing which there is always RSC.

Sorry for ya.
I don't even like the little swirls from desk diving.

But, it is just a watch and everyone that wears one is going to have to deal with this.

Yes, I have insurance ...

And no Mon, I haven't sued the Therapist...

Your comment is not helpful and straight up rude

How rude!!!
I like to keep my watches good. The same can be said about everything I own.
I'd be upset if that happened to my watch.
Perhaps a bit more empathy needed towards fellow members.

Well how was your blood pressure? Mario I would go to an AD with a watchmaker to polish it out a little.

Man, that's tough luck...and pretty big ding for a stethoscope! No joke, I had a doc appt the other day and chose to wear by Sub vs the BLNR to avoid any additional risk to the PCL's!

Well, my wife's skin is allergic to Rolex steel. Go figure.

Embrace it. Life happens, you'll end up fixing it only to ding it shortly after.
