My wife had a few more words than that as I was headed to the airport last night. . Hope the AD has something nice for her cause I have a feeling I’m gonna be in a little trouble when I get home.

Hey. I have an AD in the Caribbean and I just did a similar transaction as you. Message me with any specific questions but yes I wired funds, there’s an $85 bank fee but that may depend on which bank and which island you’re ad is on. The fee is the bank charges to revalue the funds from your currency to the Bahamian dollar. It arrived within a day. They wrap the watch in a receipt and keep it in their vault. You pick up whenever. They only do this for known customers so consider yourself lucky. Someone must’ve liked you and remembered you.

The duty free price was less than the current price on Rolex's website (in line with what they quoted me 8 months ago). Minus any food and transportation costs when I get there, this will still be a great deal for me. I used airline miles for both flights as well as points for my hotel. Paid $24 for a better seat and just a couple bucks in fees to use the miles. All in all, the biggest inconvenience will be the time away from the family and having a conversation as to why with the Mrs.

Question about this duty free price, does it still need to be declared to customs?

Yeah. I think it’s 3% on the first $1k over $800 and then 6.5% on the remaining $ over $1800

Not sure what you see in the image but they did have a Daytona on a leather bracelet...looked like maybe WG with possibly a Mother of Pearl dial. Also in the case was a YG Sub with blue bezel and dial (is the YG still considered a Smurf?), several Day-Dates, OPs and a YM II. The saleswoman also said she had a WG Smurf, but I didn’t see it in person and she said I was ineligible to purchase because I was picking up a professional. I guess the policy there is one professional piece at a time.

The time was the biggest issue. Flights and hotel were basically free (miles/points) but my wife has a new policy that requires me to sell whatever doesn’t fit in my 12 watch case. If I get a new one, another has to go. So I’m trying to sort that out too.

I was offered a DS-JC from AD in cancun last month an they to also to wanted full wire transfers payment ! I refused ! I was going there 10 day before I got that call an told them I’d Pay with a credit card over phone right then an there but ultra jewelry refused an wanted full wire payment ! I wanted to pay with credit card so I was protected an I could have benefited from the Mexico tax back an saved another 9% ! So yes Rolex is getting theere money ! That watch was sold 5min later ! Lol !

they had a stainless bezel daytona (forgive me for not knowing the exact reference number..) that was in the case and i was shocked to see scratches all over the bezel.. asked if this was a pre-owned piece and the SA said, nope, brand new. kind of surprised me.

pretty amazing story you’re going to have with your new hulk! i was lucky enough to walk in and pickup a sub a few weeks back, have a feeling the ladies will take good care of me in the future, your story gives hope!
any idea when the shipment arrived?

Congrats! Quick trip like this is fun. I was introduced to an AD in Vegas, we talked on the phone first and now via text, when mine comes in the deal is I have to fly out and get it in person...fingers crossed.

I’ll be picking up my new Sea-Dweller 43 in Grand Cayman on Wednesday. A pre-planned vacation. I shot the AD an email a couple weeks ago asking if they had any. The standard answer that I got was no. I replied back asking about a TT Sub. I was asked for my phone number so the store manager could call me to tell me what was in stock. The day after I got a call informing me they did have a Sea-Dweller. They couldn’t hold it for me, but said I could pay by CC via a link they sent with a code attached, which I did.
Everything was confirmed and it now sits in the safe until we arrive.
Safe travels!!!

The Daytona you mentioned might have been the same one. I didn’t get a good look because I was drooling all over the Hulk and YG Blue Dial Sub. The Daytona didn’t look right though. Did appear scratched or maybe just dirty and seemed smaller for some reason (maybe the leather bracelet or it being in a unique case by itself). It was not in the normal display case, but in one of those wall inserts with an advertisement and just a single watch. The shipment for the Hulk came in the day I posted this, February 6th. They actually had a decent amount of stock, but most of it was in the vault.

Great journey! Thanks for sharing and congrats. I’m envious of the green sub.
