Not being an ass here but it will come across that way: if OP budget got cut in half during this time, he shouldn’t be looking to add a watch as he just can’t afford it.

I love Rolex as much as the next TRFer but I would never put a Rolex (or any watch or luxury non-essential item) over my financial health.

Hey it's been a very long time but, one thing to consider is whether your girlfriend has a preference for a particular diamond shape or setting style. Some shapes and settings may be more expensive than others, so finding the right balance between quality and price is key. Additionally, don't forget about the metal type for the band – white gold is a classic choice, but platinum or rose gold could also be worth considering depending on her style.

An update would be nice. Did OP ever get the GMT BLRO? I would not have done the bundle without the actual watch being available in the store. This is especially true on this model with the deliveries to ADs being so sporadic and slow.

Simply put….

Don’t equate the two.

You are trying to make out on buying your future wives ring. Your child’s mother.

Forget the watch. Put all the funds into buying a nicer diamond.

Not likely if history is any gauge.

2019 effort fizzled in a day’s time.
2021 effort went a bit longer (this remnant of it is on life support due to random resurgence)

Seth just shared a pretty good philosophical perspective.

My opinion is that one must understand their loved one’s desire for this “make a deal” mentality.

The moral is that it is best to trust oneself, his deep understanding, and be honest.

The “king” didn’t want moralizing so I leave it there.

Speak up for the truth and what is right. Without honesty, people often end up looking very foolish.
