I prefer modern watches but when it comes to fountain pens, I go vintage. The 3 Parker Duofolds are almost 100 years old and they write superb!

I do a lot of field work and note taking so for me it’s the fisher space pen. Really like the thing! But I can’t post a pic with one because I’ve lost another one! I think I’m up to 3 now but they’re great and I have already ordered another.
So Rolex and a cheapo bic

Just purchased my first really nice pen, glad there is a thread to share it in. Been eyeing this one for awhile now. I've had a Montblanc Noblesse ballpoint for years as well.

So, let’s say you know nothing about pens, but want to learn more, and are interested in finding something nice that you can use daily. Any thoughts on a good starter pen? Would not want to spend a ton, and would not want a fountain pen. Thanks!

Cross, and Parker are great brands for daily use and their prices aren't very expensive. Montblancs are slightly more expensive if you don't get sucked into buying special and limited editions

Personally, I would research fountain pen forums and message boards.

When I was finally in the market for a Rolex watch, I researched and found TRF. Needless to say, it has been, and continues to be, immensely helpful!

Perhaps I could have joined a fountain pen site and asked questions about Rolex watches and probably would have gotten some helpful advice. But nothing like the help I’ve gotten here.

They still make the chequered Parker - at least they did when I bought one for my wife about a 8 years ago... nice pen - very hefty.

Handed down to me by my father just recently. He just got me started on another expensive hobby. In the coming weeks I'll be adding a few Armando Simoni's and Leonardo's.

I'm a casual collector of montblancs but this limited edition Leonardo Da Vinci fineliner is my favorite out of my entire collection. I keep it in a carbon fiber pen pouch and it pretty much goes everywhere with me. I'm not very good at taking pictures sorry
