I am sure in a few years I won't care if I bang the hell out of it but I'm still in my honeymoon period I guess. So conclusion? Wearing it to the beach. Whatever happens I'm sure it won't be the end of the world.

I can tell you that I had a lot of sand in some places (shorts) and thought about it scratching my "bezel".

I would wear it. Just don't roll around in the sand. And rinse with fresh water if you go in the ocean

The only place a Rolex may not work is in space. Other than that, The DSSD will go anywhere on this Earth. DSSD is made for the Ocean, I would think.

Absolutely, the DSSD was made for this type of activity. I would not wear a datejust to the beach however i would not hesitate to wear any type of sport watch, ie sub, seadweller etc. You purchased it to wear, enjoy it.

Actually they work just fine. Many of the early astronauts wore GMTs.

No, you definitely should not. Only the Rolex SandDweller was made to deal with the conditions you will be facing at the beach...

I understand what you mean by honeymoon period, but the worst that can happen will be superficial surface scratches if that DOES happen. I wore my Datejust to the beach pretty often and the only place it got scratched up was the back of the case from where sand was trapped between my wrist and the caseback! I imagine wearing a nato would actually make this problem worse since the sand would get wedged between the nylon and the watch, but the safety of being able to afford a pin failure outweighs that.

My DSSD has yet to see the ocean but it will soon enough.
