I would have chosen the older co-brand GS/Seiko dial if they had both in stock, but I'm happy with this less busy one and agree with your comment

Just a beautiful watch Adam! I like it so much better than the day-date Tudor. Great find!

Thanks Gary. There's no denying it has a lot going for it over the Tudor 76200, including solid endlinks, better finishing, better bracelet and clasp, an AR crystal that sits flush with the bezel, and a more subtly positioned day window. I guess a couple of these points are subjective, though. The Tudor is about 30gms lighter, though they are both about the same thickness (10mm) and width (36 & 37mm), and is more comfortable to wear. Not sure about how I feel about the world's best quartz movement vs a Tudor/ETA in terms of value, but fortunately you can own both for well under the price of the cheapest Rolex.

Hi Adam, Actually I am looking for a Day-date with the case size around 36mm. At first, I am thinking of the Tudor 76200. After reading this post, I also want a GS. If ask you to choose only one, which one you prefer? Thanks!

P.S. I am planning to get a WG DD36 with black dial in Sep 2018.

It's impossible for me to choose right now, as I am still in the honeymoon period with my GS, and yet the 76200 is one of my favourite watches. If you want resale value, the Tudor would be easier to sell later with little or no loss, as it's both restricted availability and a viable alternative to the Rolex, having a Rolex Oyster case. I get quite a few PMs asking for help in getting one. Expect them to appreciate markedly when the HK supply eventually runs out.

I missed out on the model this one replaced. The seller and I just couldn’t come together in time and it sold before I could get to it. A GS quartz is something else!

There you go again you enabler. Very cool Adam. Love that the quality and finish of the quartz is every bit as good as the autos.

Thanks, I couldn't believe no one else bid on it on eBay. I got it for $6.99! Here's the reverse side, with ladies watches. It folds into kind of an airmail letter thing.

You're better off with the new one. Prices for the originals are so high now...much more than for a decent Vintage Grand Seiko.

I did notice that when i pulled the trigger. Also i do really like the increased size on the SLA017. It is an outstanding execution by SEIKO. The team at Grand SEIKO was behind some parts of it and quality is also amazing.

I've gone a bit Seiko mad this month. As well as this GS, I've bought three vintage pieces.
