Another vote for rewards card.

At the top tier (based on assets with BofA or Merrill), this card provides 2.62 points for every dollar spent, on anything, with almost no “catch”.

Those points are redeemable for hard cash every month at $0.01 per point.

I use the rewards, that typically amount to $500-$1000 per month to supplementally fund my kids 529 college plans.

I’ve not found a better card yet, unless it’s higher points that apply only to specific categories of spending.

The AD has asked if I could pay with an alternative way on higher dollar purchases but I’ve politely declined and it’s been a nonissue.
Ill have to look into this. I never use the BOA rewards card i have because the rewards have a cap that I would max out after about a month and a half into the quarter.

I've made two purchases at my AD over the past couple years. One was via Credit Card, but the 2nd, in April of this year during the shutdown, was via money transfer.

Yes, that’s the lower tiered free card I believe. This one is the Premium Rewards Select, and the benefits really add up when you are a “platinum honors” client meaning you have (I believe) in excess of $250k with BofA/ ML.

The fee for the card is $95 but with luggage reimbursements, TSA precheck/ Global Entry included free it starts to make sense.

Hmmm. I definitely will have to look. I mainly use my Amazon prime card for all purchases, and the Amex for watch purchases.

There’s at least one: discount.

So you’re saying you have monthly statements of about 19 000$ on your credit card?

Another idea... Be polite and ask the AD if they have a preference.

After all, we want the hot models, right?

They might appreciate you paying by check/cash... maybe not. They save a couple hundred dollars in cc charges.

Between business and personal expenses yes.... not super uncommon.

Paid in full monthly- use one card for everything to maximize point value. Only things not really paid for on it are mortgage/taxes and my wife’s car lease.

The last few purchases were with checks. Really do not use credits cards much on larger purchases, but I have used them for sure.

Its curious to me why anybody now would make a large purchase for cash. Certainly years ago, transactions were done in currency. Real Estate and car purchase transactions were frequency done in cash here in the US. Years ago people did not trust checks and credit cards were in their infancy. In todays world things have changed. It is not safe to carry large amounts of cash to and from banks or stores. Too easy a target. Once the cash is stolen. Its gone and that is it. There is no tracking of random bills from a bank. Plus, governments around the world have reporting requirements, to combat money laundering and tax evasion, on cash transactions over a certain amount. Here in the US it is 10K. Over that and a lot of forms need to be filled out at each step of the transaction from bank to store to bank. Credit card offer protections and bonuses from points and can be paid off each billing cycle if that is desired. So may dealers offer 12 to 24 months same as cash if paid off within that period with no interest. I have used those and do not buy again until its paid off. Makes sense to me. Most ADs frown on checks unless from a regular customer with all the fake checks floating around, which is why I have used checks. They know me.

I still have an old 3% cash back card. I make the purchase, pay off the card in the next cycle and request a check for the 3%

One AD I’m aware of marks up the purchase 4% if you pay with a credit card. No upcharge (but also no discount) if you pay with cash or check. The other 2 ADs in my area do not upcharge for using a credit card.
