As to your question. Guess it would depend on which OF model you have. WG, YG, RG and what dial.
I agree and would add special editions are marketing ploys at best. it's always best to buy regular issued product anything. Generally, long term collectors prefer standard issue products especially the product run was short for whatever reason and the product is rare by natural causes not contrived ones.

You need a little cash back with that one but I can see why you would be considering it.

No way. Speedmaster was once a great watch, but they just aren’t very special anymore. Too much mud in the bloodline.

Don't want to upset you but that's not mud in the bloodline, its Moondust.

I’d personally prefer the Daytona. The gold speedy is nice but when I met a collector with it on in person, it didn’t do anything for me personally. I much prefer this Sedna gold speedy which was absolutely beautiful in person.

Moondust or mud dust? Lol!
If Rolex ever did things like this to the Daytona just to sell watches, it would be the end. Maybe this is why Omega will never catch Rolex in popularity.

Omega has done everything to the Speedmaster design, from cartoon characters to quartz just to push product out the door.

Sorry to anybody offended, but omega will always be a mall watch to me.

Haha, nice images.

I'm not bothered whether people have or don't have the same love for Omega as they do for Rolex, Omega make great watches they work as well as any Rolex and can happily be passed from one generation to another.

Oh, and you can buy one without jumping through hoops at the AD's, or kissing your SA's........, or having to buy stuff you don't want. Nothing wrong with an Omega watch, its not a Rolex and all the better for that.

And, yes I have a DJ and a Submariner so i'm not anti Rolex I just happen to like Omega as well and think that they make great watches.

Good for you Oxfordian but Omega has made way too many compromises for me to take them seriously.

That and their sizing. Panarai knows how to make big watches fit normal wrists. Omega has sized me out of the only watch I like from their lineup, the Planet Ocean.

The moonshine is a watch to keep for life, and is a very special omega. Daytona oysterflex is a decent piece, but still in production. I suppose cant go wrong with either.
