Funny this is the model I am currently after. I tried on a dummy model earlier this month and my wife and I both loved it. Something for everyone.

I bought an IWC Big Pilot bronze … fell out of love, sold at a loss. Oh well.

Buying what I thought was my grail. White faced Daytona pre-ceramic then realized it was just an awful watch. Too small, missed the date and hard to read. I sold it 6 months later.
Second biggest regret I should have just thrown it in the safe and sold it today. Just kidding. It funded a watch that I actually wear. |

Never had remorse for buying something and falling out of love with it. Can always trade or sell it off.
I’ve experienced seller’s remorse plenty of times. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

IWC Big Pilot for me.
At the time it was the most money I'd ever spent on a watch, which meant I was a little scared to wear it (and I like to wear my watches - no safe queens in my collection). Plus I had no end of problems with it - it gained 25 seconds per day when I got it, and despite 3 trips back to IWC to try to remedy it, the best they ever managed to get it to was +10 seconds a day. Oh and IWCSC managed to scratch the case during one of those service trips. Garbage timekeeping, garbage service, and all for close to £10k at the time. Biggest buyers remorse I've ever had. |

Buyers remorse buying a Yachtmaster years ago, maybe going on 10+
Not buying a hulk years ago at an AD away from home when offered. Sellers remorse, every SS watch ever owned

Hardly buyers remorse but definitely a bad decision. At one time back in 2010, I had in my possession 2 SS white dial Daytonas but ended up selling one of them…big mistake knowing what the going price for Daytonas these days.

I bought a 41 mm DJ - 2 tone Rose gold chocolate dial. I fell in love w/the color scheme and felt the 31 mm was too small. I sold it for a loss; I felt like I was wearing a dinner plate on my 6.25” wrist. Surprisingly, I have no problem wearing the Sub at 40 mm

Deep Sea ...hated it! Somehow thought I liked it while in the store, lol. I think a I wore it once or twice and it went in the safe until traded.

Lol funny you mention this, I just recently bought the 126300 azurro blue dj41, with smooth SS bezel. So far I like it, but I admit I was a bit surprised how its noticeably lighter in weight than the previous gen dj 41's are

Settling on a model that your heart doesnt desire will be the biggest mistake anyone makes. Especially if your paying premium at the gray dealers.
Just pay for the model you want. Example from personal experience (i.e) * Buying a DD36 instead of a DD40 because I couldn't really afford it back then and so tried to convince myself the 36mm was the one * Buying a BLNR instead of the CHNR or BLRO because it was just available at the time. * Buying a OF strap instead of the full metal bracelet because I compromised on comfort. I realized that the full metal oyster is the only option for me. |

I made this mistake as well. Bought a TT Sub but really I had my eyes on the full gold bluesy. If I was honest to myself reflecting back it was purely a money thing and I'm not ashamed to admit back then I simply could not afford it. Finally last year I bought the 116618LB. |

Tag Heuer 02. I first bought the 45mm skeleton version, then sold it after 1 year because it was too big for my wrist, then I bought the 43mm version of the same watch, then sold it because it didn't keep time well enough.

OP41 yellow. Looked great on wrist shots. The fun and cheerful kind of watch I was after. Got the call, put a nice blue blaser on with a white shirt. Arrived at the AD, tried the watch on, I wasn't so sure anymore but thought I should give it a shot, so I took it home.
Got home, realised it was very yellow (duh), spent the following two weeks looking at it in the watchbox, never wanting to wear it. A jarring dial in an otherwise underwhelming case with a tiny crown. It wasn't meant to be, I had to let it go. My mistake was maybe to buy an OP after a YM, a SD43 and a TT Bluesy. Had I started with an OP, I might have felt differently about the piece (in a different colour). |

DJ Blue Smooth Stick Oyster. Bought it and after 3 months thought it was a super boring watch. Sold it and never looked back.

waited 2 years to be offered a SD43, even after noting it looked a little large on my wrist I went ahead with purchase, sold a month or so later and bought a sub 41mm grey - still up on the financial side unless the bubble burst ....
