I don't doubt this happened, but it's insane. I've been on the list for the 321 with a full deposit since it was first announced, but I don't yet have mine. I was told I could get one right away if I spent $100,000, but I honestly had difficulty thinking how I could accomplish this with Omega, so I'm still waiting.

Funny you brought up Hermes. I was actually just walked out of Hermes next door and was early to the next appointment so decided to stop by to see if the coming recession may have improved the situation for a Snoopy wait. Before the Omega store opened, the Tourbillon on Post took down my name and the store manager “promised” that he would get one for me without any purchase. But now he is gone.
I was with Hermes for 15 years and never once my SA told my wife to buy $xxxxx to get anything. We only acquire what we like when we are ready. Quote:

I think people misconstrue this type of comment. Let’s say they have 5 Snoopy’s to allocate. They will allocate them to their 5 best clients who want one. That just makes sense.
Any number you’re told is what it takes to be in that group. It’s not some magic number they picked in a meeting. Let’s say person A spends at least $100k on watches a year. If you spend five grand, and you both want a Snoopy, the SA would say, “you need to spend 100k to get one.” Not because they like that number, but rather that’s the bar their top clients have set. If they’ve got one or two, you need to be one of the top spenders to get the allocation. If that number the big boys spend is $300k, then that’s the number. I know what I spend on watches every year and I have buddies that make me look broke, so that number doesn’t shock me at all. Once you start buying PM regularly, that number is not so crazy. Unfortunately, there are some big spenders setting the bar high in your area. |

You’re assuming people are spending the money to get the snoopy or the 321. That’s why you’re not understanding. What you’re missing is that they spend the money because they want the watches they are buying. They aren’t buying them to “build a relationship.” They’re buying them because they are watch fans.
Having the big spend to get allocated a Snoopy is a side benefit, not the goal. |

my only point for the OP was either try another AD or suck it up and pay around double MSRP for it. the watch is nothing special. it really isnt. seiko has peanuts watches.

I had encountered the same issues as OP when I asked for the snoopy. I previously made a thread about this topic about a year ago and contemplated getting the snoopy off the grey market but ultimately didn’t and instead got the 3861 Sapphire Speedmaster.
The main issue with Omega isn’t the spend history. Don’t get me wrong - 150k (what I was asked to spend) is still a lot of money. It’s that there’s nothing much in their catalogue that is particularly exciting. Also value proposition wise if I had 150k laying around I think I would rather buy Patek Calatravas than Omegas….6119, 5226 and 6007… and those 3 are much better watches than anything in the Omega line up unfortunately… |

Boutique being blunt with spending
What it meant is: she has zero authority to even get you on the list for a Snoopy. And, she has no clue of allocation requirements.
Instead of telling customer: “it’s a shot in the dark at this point, I’m not authorized to give you any hope”. SA came up with bullshit like $xxx, xxx spending, because they regurgitate what they hear from Rolex and Patek customers. To sum up, that SA has no clue, and started make up shit. Same. I realize it’s not for everyone (what watch truly is), but to say it’s nothing special isn’t accurate. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Regarding the spend requirements-
There are quite a few people in my area that will or have spent well over 6 figures at the Boutique. I know one of these people and the manager has also told me as much as well. I, sadly, am NOT one of them lol. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

You have to remember also that there are a lot of CEO’s and MD’s that will buy 20 x 10k watches for their team as a bonus reward type thing.
Pretty easy for them to quickly build a big spend history without even getting much for themselves. |

I feel the main problem with this sales reply is on launch, Omega made a big deal about most people will be able to get one. They also made a big deal about how they are not Rolex and playing silly games. The position of the brand was framed as accessible high quality. So to change the sales script just makes the brand position confusing or breaks brand loyalty once the rules are changed mid cycle.
I got mine in ‘22, but if they held deposit for 5 years I would have still bought the watch and then never another Omega. |

:-) After looking at two PM pieces and showed somewhat interested and questioned that even if I bought both pieces at the spot, I would still be only at barely $100k spend. Her reply was: “It will be a start and this is a marathon, not a sprint”. Not sure how to make out of her response. Omega and marathon relationship building does not seem to go together. At least if they are a brand like FPJ, I would beg them to take my $300k and hand me a watch. |

That is an outrageous amount to quote you. I would find another Omega AD to work with.
My current want from Omega is Speedmaster in Moonshine Gold with greed dial |

I am very shocked to hear this. My boutique simply does first in first serve. I recently got a sapphire set speedy which is off catalogue by simply asking for one.
Only after this last purchase is my spend anything of note. Honestly I’m still not a whale for them. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

The good thing about Omega is, That if a boutique tries to play this game, You can go online with there chat help and buy one directly from Omega. By pass the AD all together.
