Some very good finds quite a few years back now at a boot sale picked up these little gems I was having a sort through a large box of watch parts. And was just going to give them back, when I noticed a tarnished silver looking watch head.

Asked the price he wanted £5, so I swiftly gave him £5 for the watch. And thought I will have a have a proper look when I get home, and after a good clean.Lovely little 15 jewel movement, marked Unicorn watch, all running, , and inside the case-back JUST what I hoped to see," Rolex Watch Company".Silver hallmark dates case to 1921.And in these early times,of the Rolex company only about 1 in 5 had the Rolex name,on the dial when it left the factory.A few months later picked up another Unicorn plus the Silver cased Rolex for just a few pounds again they were in a box of watch bits and pieces. The S.Steel Unicorn I sold on but the others are still working today and keeping good time and still get quite a bit of wrist time.

Rolex Unicorn from 1922 silver case.

movement scan.

Rolex Unicorn scan from 1924 S.steel quite a new metal then and was more expensive than the silver version.

Rolex from 1924 same case as the Unicorn but 17 jewel movement.

1969 Omega Speedmaster Professional pre-moon. Picked it up at an estate sale a few years back for $900. Head was in great shape but bracelet was some beat up aftermarket piece. Spent another $240 on a like new, never used bracelet from a 1990's Speedy (1998/840). I didn't think I did too bad getting into a nice Speedy for around $1200. This is my daily beater, go anywhere with me watch.

And this is my first post on RF after being a member for 2 yrs.
