I have owned both watches. I felt the UN to be too big and somewhat heavy for me to be my daily wearer. It was a very beautiful and unique watch. However I always found myself going for my sub. I pondered on selling the UN for a watch that would have more wrist time for years. I finally sold the UN after six years and purchased a GMT-II. I have found a new watch that will have plenty of wrist time with no regrets. If investment potential is a consideration the Rolex is the only way to go. You can always pick up a used UN and if you don't like it flip it. Good luck.

You can pick up a new UN from an AD for approximately 20-30% off of retail. Cant do that with the Rolex Sub. You could also take a trip to St. Thomas and pick up the UN @ Trident and have a great vacation with the money you would save.

I have never owned a UN but love the look of them, but always felt that a sports/dive watch should have a bezel as the one with the dimpled face has).

I would get a previously loved UN if priced right but a used UN vs equal condition SUB are not in the same price range....
