Very nice. I'd guess the serial number is in the high 1.5 million range or maybe 1.6 million with a 66 case back. The dial is referred to us GMT fanatics as a Mark 0, the earliest version of the GMT dial.

Enjoy your watch!

Just bought my first GMT 2 days ago (all black). Very happy.

I am so impressed that you have 50 years with that beauty.
What a statement; for you and for Rolex.

Fantastic.

Congratulations! That is wonderful to have a keepsake like that. It is still beautiful, as I am sure is your quality of life. I will be 70 in a couple of years. While I don't have a 50 year old watch, I have wonderful memories of a rich and full life. Now, I have to decide which watch I am going to get for my 70th!

And I hope you continue to enjoy that beauty for many more years to come.

Cheers,
Carl

They told me that a 'display box' would cost me a further £25 - just work that out as a percentage of the cost of a new GMT and you can see why I didn't bother! I always intended constantly wearing the watch anyway, so it would never see that inside of any box, but I do feel I should have been provided with one.

Thanks again, everyone.

Stan.
Wow, £84 nicker, I've had a steak that cost more. Come to think of it, fries were £25 as well.
