Will the Bubble Pop on the Patek Philippe sport watch...???
Bubble pop? Sounds like a great buying opportunity...but likely not going to happen. At best, you may see a correction if not market cooling on certain pieces.

What’s also interesting about the current hype is it’s extension to PM models. I cannot think of any other current, non-special edition, PM watches fetching above MSRP on the secondary market. With watches like Rolex, I feel that TT/PM MSRP typically sets the ceiling for stainless versions. Not so here. What I anticipate is the hype on PM sports models deflating in the not too distant future (especially RG), at which point the ceiling for the stainless will be recalibrated accordingly.

I suppose the best way to clarify what I meant was those watches fetching above retail due to overall surge in demand, vs their collectibility among traditional watch collecting crowds. Typically the former is limited to stainless.

Well of course. Stainless has always been the rarest and most desirable metal for Patek historically.
