If I waited 12+ months to get a BLRO from my AD and it came in with burgundy and black bezel, I would lose my sh!t... just saying. You buy a pepsi so the blue and red POPS. Like the older 5 digit bezels.

I got mine from the first batch made (straight from an AD 5 months after Baselworld announcement).
The lighting does indeed make all the difference in the world. In natural bright sunlight, especially looking at an angle are when it's pastely light colours. On an overcast day, not so much. But inside under office fluorescents or at home under warm light temperatures, it's definitely a more natural deeper red and blue. However, those later batches definitely look like naturally deeper colours even under sunlight, which explains why they look even darker in indoor light. So dark indoor that they're quite a lot darker than what a 1980s Pepsi was. All in all, it's obviously a matter of personal taste. There is no "better" or "worse". Can’t help but agree. I would ask Rolex for a bezel from a better batch. This borders on a quality control when the color varies this much. |

I just got mine and the blue is a very deep, deep blue and does look black in low light and deep blue in bright light. I love it.
That said, making a Coke now would be redundant. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Date stamped Feb. 2020. Yes, darker blue but cannot be mistaken for black.

So much for a new 'Coke' GMT. MKIII BLRO dial gives best of both worlds.

Mine is from 2018 with what most recognize as a mark II, second batch, whatever, and it doesn’t look quite like that other pic in direct sun.
Keep in mind though, the direct sun definitely gives a bit of a purple look, I’ve seen it, but iPhones seem to get a little confused on which color temperature to shoot at in direct sunlight, specifically during a low sun. Here is mine in similar light, direct sun. |

Mine is just right. MK3 I think (I can't keep up with which Mark we are even on now) from last summer. But I like it. Not light and pastel, and not so dark it doubles as black. Just right imo. I love it.

Exactly, I think the current BLRO with the dark bezel is as close as we're going to get to the original 6542. I think Rolex realized how light the blue was on the GMTs and I think that might be the reason they introduced Coke back in the day. I always preferred Coke to Pepsi due to blue being too light. With this bezel, I feel like Coke is redundant. It's very dark blue that almost looks black, while still offering some color.
