I’ve been wanting to try and get my hands on a late production year so that it still had some balance of warranty left but more importantly, as close to “Unworn” as possible.

I started my hunt in my home country, even went as far as Italy to get one but got cold feet as the seller seemed to behave suspiciously so didn’t go ahead with the purchase. I eventually spoke to my AD and they even alerted their preowned department to keep an eye as well as some independent dealers they know. Eventually they got in contact and offered me a preowned one but did also state that there was one that they knew had minimum wrist time as they had been in touch with one of their regular customers who rotates their watches frequently in order to find their next purchase. Anyway, long story short...I’ve finally have one and have just had it hand delivered by them (very good of them with everything that is going on in the world during this time) and I couldn’t have been happier!

For me, my GMT collection is complete as I’ve got all the Maxi Case ones that I would want to have. Yes, I could add a Blue or original black dial WG Pepsi but I’ve got the one WG variant I like the most. Was now waiting to see if another GMT release would be added to the line up but looks as though we’re going to have to wait a few months or potentially next January...who knows at this rate!

Which is your favorite piece? Which was the hardest to get?

It’s hard to say which is my favourite as I love all GMTs! I think though from an overall perspective and if ever had to go down to one then it’d be the WG Meteorite as it doesn’t look so expensive to the untrained eye compared to the RG or YG variants.

In terms of hardest, technically it was the Green Anniversary as I had to go preowned but wanted a specific type of example that I’d be happy with.

All others weren’t hard in the sense that my AD really does look after me (I had their first Bi-Metal Rootbeer and the Meteorite dial) and they’ve supplied me with a Mk1 & 2 bezel Pepsi (if you believe the debate!), plus an extra one for my dad so had 3 from them! The SARU was what they call a “Bio” piece where they have to put customers forward and show their buying habits etc but still was easy enough to get.

Not to this extent tbh but I’ve got a few others and the Sub is where I have a few of. In fact, I don’t own the currently own a 116613LN but had alerted my AD to keep an eye at this year’s Basel so if it did become discontinued then most likely would’ve added it. That sadly isn’t going to happen anytime soon now so have some time to wait for that.

Thanks for comments people!

Obviously massively chuffed and looking forward to being able to give the Anniversary Green some wrist time soon enough.

Only with the GMT does this type of similarity actually work.
I like it!
