I wouldn’t for the 124060 but I’m not judging anyone that wants to.

I would hang on to the 114060 personally but I like the fatter lugs. If you are going to move to the newer watch let prices cool off for 6-12 months and then get it. You'll probably save yourself 5k.

It won't come down. All the black money is flowing into the market because they need to get rid of it. I paid 6800usd grey in 2017 for it.

All this right now is resellers trying to reel in suckers. Sub along with Explorer was always the easiest SS model to get. Lowest ask for Sub date was $20k+ a few days ago, that’s already dipped to $17k, will continue dropping as the market becomes more saturated to around the previous Sub markup of 10-20%. Some people just had FOMO because certain dealers got them and others didn’t, creating this worry that ADs won’t get supplied like 11 series.

Outside of large cities, a Sub is usually a few months maximum wait if you don’t come across as a flipper. Lol people are smoking some good stuff to think a Sub will ever have lists like Pepsi/Daytona to maintain that grey price.

I’ve talked to 2 different ADs and when it comes to the black Sub (not the Kermit!) the list of interested people is practically the exact same as what they had for the 116610LN. Essentially, nobody saw the new black Sub and said ‘gotta have it’ if they weren’t already interested before.

Not me- but I’d sure a heck try to sell it at that price if I had an extra one laying around!

DavidSW had the ND Sub yesterday for $15K. It was gone in matter of hours before I could even make up my mind. I am not fully convinced that the premium would drop much since it hasn’t for other SS models like the Pepsi, Batgirl, SkyDweller. But we will see if the price of the new Subs become more reasonable.

There'll be tons of them out there soon enough. Nothing special basic Submariner. I've never paid anywhere near retail for watches except once. And I won't be doing for a sodding basic Sub.

Normal plain jane Sub doesn’t really have the IG clout any of the other watches have, that’s flat out why it won’t be like the others. It’s probably the most well known sports watch in the world, most highly faked, and has been around forever. Nobody is flaunting a black sub for likes, let’s just be honest. Some type of color or something from AP/PP is where it’s at right now for hype.

I sold my 2017 114060 for 6K just before this craziness started. Never thought that a ND Sub would be over 10K. But this is the world that we are living in right now...the asset bubble world.

If there are people willing to pay over the odds, there will be sellers happy to oblige. But it's a definite no from me. I'm already looking to spend elsewhere.
I'm looking at buying three watches for my family, and it doesn't look like any of them will be Rolex. They won't be bought at Rolex AD's either.

As much as I love my Rolex watches, I would never pay over MSRP. I would rather look at other brands like AP, Omega, or Breitling. I'm tired advertised watches that you can't buy.
If my AD can get me what I want, fine, but I have started to gain interest in these other brands.

Premium is definitely not worth it on this one. Wait, let the market and the newness wear off, and then grab one.

I’d buy an SD 43 for a bit more instead. I love hearing all the big shots who say they’d never pay over MSRP for any watch. Either you don’t mind waiting 2 or more years With no guarantee or youre one of the few who has an AD relationship that enables you to get on the “A list”. I think that’s not realistic for the majority of us who want a particular model in a reasonable time frame.
