Congrats, it’s a terrific watch. I’m a big fan and have worn mine solidly for three weeks now, which is unheard of in my collection, especially for a watch that I’ve had for a long time.

That was the CHNR then BLNR. Life is a Journey and it’s fun to see what works and what doesn’t. I have always been glad to experience how a watch looks/wears. It’s real world first hand knowledge. It’s unfortunate that todays Rolex buying environment has robbed the new owners of the freedom in experimenting with different Rolex watches with no pressure. I can’t imagine spending this kind of money with limited experience and going in blind buying a watch.
I personally have found I like “bright” watches with the color of blue or black with my skin tone and lifestyle. Bright watches make me happy. I wore a Bluesy for 15 years as my only Rolex so that tells you I like em loud and proud.

I love the Everose look but it was too warm for me. I can’t recommend the CHNR in either TT or 18k enough. It is a absolute stunner if a warm sexy watch looks good on you. The BLRO/Pepsi is so bright and has a bling/casual/fun vibe. It was the red and blue in my YMII (which I adore) that gave me the idea a Pepsi would be a killer everyday comfortable watch. Every model has their X factor. For me the X factor in the Pepsi is the color shifting bezel with the gloss black dial. Contrast couldn’t be better and every color works in showcasing the watch. It’s a “cocky attitude” watch for lack of a better personality explanation.
Rolex nailed it with the modern BLRO without stepping on the past versions.

Big B-day is this weekend but had to smoke a celebratory cigar for the new Pepsi. This is my new watch ritual.

The unboxing pics:

FYI: here is the info on the green felt easylink stickers. I did several threads on this years back. They work well. I should’ve patent the idea cause I would’ve made a fortune by now. “Rolex Easylink scratch protection pads”.

HUGE congrats!! I am similar with respect to the Pepsi. It didn’t catch my attention until recently, and when I finally saw one in person I instantly knew I wanted it. I LOVE it.

It’s a sickness and if these models were in a display case to actually see, it would only make the demand for this watch even worse. Photography can only capture so much.

Congrats and great write up! Why do you think that is that the case back is so different? Is it all due to the water resistance difference? I would love for my Sub to be less thick. Could one install a GMT case back on a Sub to achieve this?

Yes, water resistance is the difference between the GMT Master II and the Submariner. Even though the GMT has a triple lock crown, it doesn’t require such a thick case back as the Sub because the Sub is rated to 300M. Keep in mind both watches are tested well beyond their WR rating so you can dive with a GMT without any fear of water intrusion. I have and have used the GMT bezel as a dive bezel as it was only a backup anyway. Years ago I believe there were a few threads on switching case backs between the two models. With today’s “keeping a Rolex stock”, the practice would be discouraged.

I had to go to the creek for some very, very cold water pics as our fall weather is only getting colder.

There is no denying, there is a noticeable difference on the wrist in thickness in the case backs between the two. We discussed this at length and many professional divers have used a DateJust for decades without any water intrusion or issues. The reality is even the most robust recreational diver will never push the limits of a Rolex WR rated 100m watch.
I look at all my watches as a “one and only” capable watch. This means I take it on long extensive family vacations to places like Disney that will see pool and waterslides and amusement park rides but will also look smart in dinner attire. Rolex doesnt make a professional model that doesn’t meet these requirements. The difference is how comfortable and streamlined you want on your wrist out of the collection.

So, I can't tell, do you like the watch at all?

Very nice post, but this sentence - I'm sorry - just killed me.

It is can be a contraction as "it's".

The possessive of it, is "its". Yeah, it's confusing.

So, what I do, is I read it out loud, and substitute any "it's" with "it is". If it sounds wrong, then remove the apostrophe so that it's no longer the contraction, but the possessive.

And so ends our English lesson for the day. You're welcome.

Oh yeah, reading it out loud works for "you're" and "your" as well. Substitute "you are" and say it out loud, and see if it works.

Happy Birthday and congrats! This is my grail watch - hope to own it one day.

Know you mentioned the significance of keeping Rolex stock, but do you know if the BLRO is compatible with the superjubilee bracelet?

Thanks so much everyone. I am happy to report the accuracy has been outstanding gaining +0.50 to +0.75 seconds a day on the wrist and I can take it off with a resting position at night. So far yielding a 0.0 to +0.50 seconds for three days and counting. Resting positions have yielded very stable and very minute changes with less than a second + or - over night depending on position. It certainly betters the under 2 second accuracy standard and is on the positive/gain side..
