Low 20's for a black dial I'd really start to consider.

What is the point of this post...oh, so gray dealers can figure out how to price in this difficult economy. There is no other point, because, who cares what someone else would pay given the disparities in income, real or perceived. So productive.

28K last month for unworn 2021 black full set. I believe it was a fair deal so don't care if it drops or rises, bought to wear.

$0. I don't like it...Never really been a fan of chronos since I have no use for the complication itself.

Someone just posted a naked white dial 116500 on Moda for $27k. Lowest I have seen since the peak.

$15k - but I’m not really into Daytonas, certainly not the ceramic ones.
I am of the opinion that the market will over correct. Greys will soon have to dump their hoard either by choice or by liquidation. Demand will be weak too as only die hard Daytona fans will buy - and only at big discounts because they understand the market. Ordinary enthusiasts and investors will not want to have a “toxic investment” on their wrists - too much bad luck. “Yeah I paid 50k for my second hand Daytona and I don’t care no one will buy it north of 25k.” Not a lot of those guys still swimming. All along Rolex will continue to crank them out. |

I’d buy a white anywhere in the 20s. A white just went for 27 on Moda.

nothing we post here has any impact if no one actually buys from greys. they can set their floor with our posts but what good is it if globally no one is consistently buying after that. you think if 20 people here say they'll buy at 20k that'll be a floor worldwide? lol, weird conspiracy theory you got there. ultimately the purchase history they see will set a floor, not a forum

Rolex sells them to ADs for 10 or 11 grand so that's what they think they are worth.
If I liked them I suppose I'd talk myself into paying $20k. I only want to see the price drop hoping it might drag the pre-ceramic stainless price down. I really like the 116520 but by the time I got serious about finding one they were passing $16k and haven't stopped climbing. No thanks. I wouldn't enjoy it if I paid today's prices. I’m not a particular fan of it, so to be honest, I probably wouldn’t buy it at all, even for just a few thousand, because that would stop me from buying the watches that I actually want to buy

20k for the steel models and MRSP+15% for the PM models.
However, I feel it will be quite different when the price actually drops to that level. A part of me will always wonder if it will drop further. either way, paying over MRSP is still something I have yet to put into practice. |

Not really sure if I like it or not but it also continues to be on my mind. In the low 20s full set I'd be tempted give it an extended test drive just to find out.

If it retails for 39 and with tax = 43 out the door, anything that is on the grey market for 50 or less should be very attainable from an AD

I would only buy from an AD so by default that’s MSRP. If I were willing to go grey market, 15-16k would be my max. Lovely, fun watch, but nothing truly extraordinary (unless we’re talking Platona!). I say that as a fan. :)

Don’t get the aesthetic allure of the Daytona (heritage aside). The white dial is great, but wouldn’t pay over retail.

Lots of salty bros here. What’s the point of posting a price if you don’t even like the watch?
For me, low 30’s for modern steel as the quality is top-notch and it is the best sports chronos out of what’s out there. |

Same. I didn’t care for it till I tried it on for the first time. Pics online do not do it justice.

I agree. I’ve always loved the Daytona but finally tried on a ceramic last week, a buddy has a white one. It’s amazing. It’s everything i have wanted for years. Would i pay 30? No. But it’s probably more financial than it is the watch. I would pay 20, but 30 is a bit more than i would spend. It’s one of those things either you get extremely fortunate with your AD and get one, or you pay the price on the grey side. In general i don’t think Rolex does a great job photographing watches. When you see them in person, most recently the BLRO and Daytona, they are much better in person. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Retail only, always, unless I can’t get a discontinued model out of my mind.

I first became aware of the watch in 2017 and knew I had to have it, I was rather new to the Rolex world then and didn't know that this watch was so sought after that the secondary market was commanding premiums for it; and after multiple tries at so many ADs, I was told by all of them that I'd need to wait years to possibly get one. So I went ahead and paid market price and got it, the price has obviously gone up much higher now, but as long as I can comfortably afford one, I'd pay the market price for it all over again.

I’ve had the opportunity to try the 116500ln on at the AD, and while it’s a bit small for my wrist, it’s a unique design. In my mind the thing that separates it from similar chronos is the bezel design, which seems more tapered, as well as the contrast with the dial. The TT 116503 (which I was told I could get) just doesn’t have that contrast.
Despite the above, as I mentioned in an earlier note, I’d only pay MSRP as there are other options. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
