Sounds like removing your name from an imaginary list probably wouldn’t impact your chance of a 126500 Daytona delivery from that AD either way.

the funny thing is, many people do not even get ON TO the list (my AD never put me on a Daytona list for example), so OP was already privileged :))

but either ways, it's not that important... the spread between primary and secondary market prices tightens, and it should not matter all that much

If you don't want it anymore it's best to just forget about it. A win for you and a win for whoever has one less person queuing in front of them.

I find this very odd. What does it hurt to keep your name on a list? Costs nothing.

The point being he gave up nothing because he was never going to be on a real list anyway.

What you ‘youngsters’ fail to realise is theres more to life than chasing around after bits of metal and glass.
While having what you want when you want it is gratifying at the time, it means nothing compared to peace of mind and just letting it go.
As the OP I have absolutely no regrets passing on this, in fact, the opposite is true.

The opposite of love is not hate, it’s indifference.

Similarly, if you really didn’t care, you would have just let it be and not worried about “cancelling”.

Wouldn’t you say that by cancelling I have saved the ad some work?
As previously mentioned, I have a good relationship with my Ad, they have looked after me and I am more than happy with what they have done for me in the past. A little consideration goes a long way.

Honestly, no. What work? having to call you years down the line, or more likely, never, to see if you wanted one?

I think what people are saying is, it seems like you were highly unlikely to get allocated one, so why bother removing your name? You could have "let go" in your mind and forgetting about while keeping that optionality open, costs you nothing.

And for sure it costs the AD nothing to "keep" you on the "list". You really didn't do your AD any favors, its not like he or she is agonizing everyday on whether to sell you one.

Exactly

“Letting go” would be forgetting about it and telling no one. It is not bothering to tell the AD. And it’s *certainly* not coming to a public forum to post about it.

That’s not typical, and certainly not for a white ceramic.

If you’ve moved on from the model or you’re holding off on pieces for it, I get it.

Other than that, I’d be puzzled since being on the “list” adds nothing to your day. I’d view it as a “set and forget” and just be in the position to buy if the call comes.

Personally, I’d never endure a list unless I REALLY wanted it but didn’t quite want it enough to pay market.

What, pray tell, have I missed? You’re here telling folks you’re enlightened and let go of things, but at the same time come with basically the same “waah, I can’t get a Rolex, ADs suck!” thread that happens here every other day. You’ve just worded it a bit differently.

You’ve obviously not read my previous posts. I’ll leave it there.

Being in UK surprised your not aware that 80% of AD's are under the Goldsmiths umbrella company controlling WOS and M&W from which you can only be registered to one AD as they all use the same system and will politely inform you of such if you try.
