My guess is that the influx of new owners (myself included) has something to do with the end of the line for the model.

Wearing my 2005 "F" Sub LV today. Love it! Back then it took a while to find one. 6 month waiting list.

when they came out end of 2003 and early 2004 the waiting list was 2 years and more Strange how thing change from 2.5 years to 6 months and the last 2 years of production it was 2 months maximum and even somethimes your AD had one in stock. Than they announced the new LV ans suddenly all the stock was gone. Within 1 or 2 years they will be above the last known listprice |

Also, back then buying one through an AD was the only way to get list price! The prices were high up until about mid to late 2005.

Submitting Membership Request; Flat 4 LV, Sir!
Firstly, thanks to Rod E. and his fine family, and Mike, [TRF Moderator] for his expertise, guidance and counsel in this recent acquisition. Haven’t been able to take PICs yet so I’ve included BuckeyesFan TRF thread of May ’10:
http://www.rolexforums.com/showthread.php?t=130587 16610LV: assembled in 2oo3, - -while I was in the deserts of Iraq; brought to market in early - -‘o4 as I was DEMOB’d and flow from Combat-Theatre; and is an all original early F1xxxxx, AD10 clasp Complete B&P; ( hopefully it will get along with it’s plexi-siblings [ ’54 Ref. 6564, 18k, ’84 Ref. 16750 ]). Wanted to get this to commemorate my selection to Battalion Command, but the waiting list in 2oo4/5 was horrendous. Patience and timing will out. For those fellow vintage-exclusive aficionados, ‘mea-culpa’ in advance, just had to acquire a daily wear trophy. For fellow Nylon Nation guys n’ gals it rests of a Corvus ‘Bond’ NATO three-color. Again my thanks for a great guy Rod. Christopher, Colonel58 TRF/VRF 308th CA BDE (USASOC); V-Corps, Deputy G5; CJTF-7 Iraqi Ministry Team Chief 2oo3-2oo4 |

Help the Uninformed!
I recently bought a Submariner 116613 with blue dial and bezel. I looked at the green bezel before I bought, but it just wasn't for me. My question is this, before this year when the green bezel and green dial came out, why did Rolex put a green bezel wiih and black dial? I looked at the new all green combination and it looks much better to me.
