Galvanic growth Audemars piguet and no more AP logo at 12. Pretty clear what AP is doing to further distinguish their products. non jumbo ROs get galvanic Audemars piguet and no AP logo. ROO gets AP logo but no galvanic growth and only jumbo gets Audemars Piguet stamped on with the AP logo at 6 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

On that front I am very happy with my stamped 26315 w/ AP logo. I love the AP logo, and the stamping on the dial is done marvelously well given that it is an uneven surface from the pantograph engraving.
Still love AP, and would love one of the new ones, but also feeling content that I have one given how crazy things have got.

if this is true, current 15500st will become more special. AP logo with write out looks so much better than the layout of what was released this year. talk about a relatively short run reference.

AP is running the risk of being a bit gimmicky with this change. Not every piece needs to have a 50 year anniversary badge. What gives the dial a unique look was the both the lettering and the logo. From 15400 to the 15500 they removed the words automatic leading to critique that the dial appeared a bit empty; I disagree with this critique as I own was and feel it gives it a clean look and one can appreciate the dial more. But now removing the logo and discontinuing a model that had a short run is a bit near sighted. They are helping to fuel this crazy secondary market prices by now discontinuing a model that had a short run. Unless there is somewhat of a correction, we may expect the 15500 given that it has the logo and had a short run, to spike in prices.

I’m happy to reserve judgment on the replacement for the 15500 until we actually know definitively what the changes are/how it looks.
Thus far, AP have updated their 2022 catalogue superbly in my view and I’d expect the same for the 15500 replacement too…..but let’s see. |

I just did that, took my 15500st blue . And happy with it. I try to think of wait for the new 50th 41mm , but I’m not sure if they will allocate the blue for me , so I just pick the 15500st and enjoy it . |

Hi all,
As it seems the “if” is confirmed, has anyone more information about the “when”? April 15th or later? |

So what date will we know if the 15500 is gone for good? How long was it in production for if so? Surely this will just add to the secondary market prices for it!

Looks like it’s April 16th and the 15500 is still on the AP site.

Aaah wow, it’s actually there yeah!
I like the fact that the hour markers are much longer than on the 15500. It makes it look more like the original. |

Aaah there is more:
You can see by counting the tapisserie at the 12 hour marker that it's not the 15550, so it must be the successor to the 15500. |

Yes they put on site new watches and write something about all references but nothing special for 15500….. and introduced only pictures for new 50 anniversary 37 mm…..
So, till now nothing about new 15500… |

The photo posted several times above (and in a number of other threads) is NOT the 37mm 15550. This watch has the same tapisserie pattern as the 15500, but with the 50th anniversary modifications of dial layout and furniture (most obviously, no more AP logo).

Yeah you can clearly see the hour markers are almost five tapisserie squares long. Definitely an unreleased model here.

Still confused. If the one in the pic above is the new 15510, then i think 15500 looks better with the logo.

Not sure about the source of confusion? The AP logo is gone from all updated references from 34mm to 41mm (77350CE.A, 15550, 26715, 26240), except for the Jumbo. It would be rather surprising if it had remained on the 15500 successor.
