The AD came through! Good on you for pushing them....although no pushing should have been necessary. As others have said, be SURE TO GET the new warranty card that matches the case.

The bezel on my GMTII had a misaligned bezel. My watchmaker fixed it on a couple of days and the watch is good to go.

Grady, FWIW....One of the ONLY benefits of buying a watch from an AD is having the satisfaction of knowing that the watch has been unaltered from factory - direct to you. Having to open the case up and expose it to a watchmakers hands/environment unnecessarily voids that benefit. So....for me....a new watch is order, nothing less.

Isn't it sound ridiculous and reasonable at the same time? I don't mind keeping my 10 days old watch band cause it has no scratches on it, but I'm just wondering isn't every Rolex watch band come with serial numbers on it? and are these serial numbers including watch head and watch band come together as a package? will it be any disadvantage if i just swap the watch head with AD store? what am I missing here? Please advice!! Thank you all for your true kind heart!!

Congratulations on having this resolved! Now you get to enjoy your new watch the way it was meant to be from the beginning.

I think you're living in a fantasy world, but at least the OP is happy with his results. I guess you never have your watches serviced or even pressure tested, because the innards would be exposed to the atmosphere and defiled by the hands of a Rolex - certified watchmaker.

To me that's insane.

If one has to magnify to see it...wouldn't bother me. From normal distances would not be noticed

The numbers on the 97200 bracelet is only the production date code and model number. Not a serial number.
As others mentioned, as long as the new warranty card lists the serial number of the watch head, you are good to go.

Nice to hear that the matter is now resolved.

Nice outcome. A dial that sloppily done is unacceptable. It's from Rolex factory, not cheap aftermarket crap. I hope you are 100% satisfied and the watch has the quality dial you should expect from Rolex.

To my eye, the 7:00 marker looks off, so I would say this is not a lone issue.

The seven marker is fine, it's just the shadow on the right edge that makes it look offset.

Living in fantasy world - - tell my wife I think that, she'll pass out from laughing!
Yes, I've had watches serviced and pressure tested....but WELL AFTER they've been worn for about a decade, not a month after being purchased new from the store. Gigantic difference. Maybe this wouldn't affect you, but I think you would be the exception - not the rule. I've seen what RSC has done to brand new watches in their care (for warranty work), and all of it hasn't been pretty. Once something "New" goes into human hands for work it's never going to be the same.

Glad this story ended like it should have

An not unexpected outcome.
I can see the AD slipping a new bracelet on this second hand watch as I type this post.

Tell me Grady, would you buy it with this dial?:

A simple yes or no will do.

Of course I wouldn't buy the watch with a faulty dial, if I noticed first. It's likely I would notice it, as I have looked over every watch I have bought from my AD.

However, once purchased, I would be satisfied with a replacement dial, under the circumstances mentioned in the OP, as I understand them.

A lot would depend on the return policy. I have a good relationship with my AD and I get regulations under warranty with no hassle. I even got a free regulation after my warranty had expired.

But, if I bought a watch from my AD and if by policy my return rights had expired, I would graciously accept a new dial as just.

The scenario in this thread is not likely to happen to me, but I did mention that my AD watchmaker has regulated my BLNR and realigned the bezel insert which was slightly askew.

I did not demand a new watch.

Wow mate that's attention to the detail like a pro...

Now I'm afraid of looking at my new GMT2 and finding a similar issue....

Anyone who says they had a watch for 10 days and is willing to accept a repair while waiting 2-3 months, not counting time to call and visit ad, shipping and receiving, inspecting etc. Is a liar

Time is money you don't buy a car expecting to bring it for repairs in 2 weeks.

Anyone who said they'd be willing to wait a couple months for RSC to swap the dial is a liar? That's pretty harsh, Mr. CEO.

Mine is aligned spot on I would push for a replacement dial. Its a current model so a dial change shouldn,t be an issue.

I would without question demand a new one seeing as you just purchased it. I would place a call to Rolex first and then go back to the dealer in question. Good luck!

In the 3rd pic the crown is unscrewed. I don't believe it is wise to submerge the watch in water like that. It may be fine to do, but I wouldn't chance it.

That first one looked awful,

happy you got a new watch head... Swapping the bracelet is quite ridiculous of Rolex, it just leaves a bad taste for your personal experience, however in reality no big deal.

Unless he finds a defect in the new watches dial or a hairline on the case or a cyclops magnification issue…
