I think the white dial is a little more classy/dressy looking while the black dial is more sporty. I personally prefer the black dial

Not sure if this is the right place to ask, but other then having to pay $3k over MSRP is there anyway to get this watch these days in the US? I have no problems putting myself on a waiting list if I actually do get a call a few years later ;)

Hi! Sharo. Any photos of the V series SS Black Daytona? Any differences with the M series? Thank you.

I love the BLACK DIAL!!!!! it's more elegant, a little more formal, yet everyday...a little more seductive, a little more enticing........i guess it's subjective.....i asked some one the same question....and the asked me back..."what color lingerie do you like on yur women?"....ANSWER: BLACK!

I had a choice and picked the white pill. Just easier on my eyes. The black dial has a mystique of its own...
Hard to go wrong either way. |

Do you find the Daytona a little small?
It's my only hesitation, but I love the style and the new movement.

When looking to purchase my SS Daytona recently, my AD had both a white dial model and one in black. Although I liked both, I selected the white dial because I found it easier to read. Personally, I had difficulty reading the chrono registers on the black dial.

The only white dial Rolex I like, is the Daytona - whether it being vintage or new. And IMHO a daytona should be white, unless you DLC a black face Daytona :)

I have the black dial and always liked it but now I have another Rolex with a black dial (GMT).
I'm planning to change the Daytona SS dial to White and keep the black one. I can always change to black whenever I want. |

I had a white one but sold it because i thought it was hard to read. Got a black one coming shortly. I generall find black dials easier to read, is that not the case for daytonas?

I just got my Daytona Blackdial at SGD$16,200. It seems that the prices have fallen quite a bit perhaps due to the economic downturn. Grey Dealers are selling BNIB for SGD$15.5k - 15.8k.

I had also heard that in Japan, the Yakuza are also crazy about the Daytonas and wear them as a mark of their rank in the hierarchy. Can anyone verify if this is true? Japanese are willing to pay sky high prices for these Daytonas. I am keen to get a white Daytona. I think it looks good as well. |

Just paid for my black dial SS daytona today, should recieve it by tuesday
Price wise it was £725 above the current list price which I thought was fair enough seeing as most people selling them in the UK above the list are looking for £1000+ premiums I love the white dial as well and I'd love to eventually get a white gold daytona with the white face as I think the red details make it really interesting Anyone ever heard of a SS black face w/red dials...my friend has one and I'm lead to beleive there are only 2 in the world... |

i think the ss black dial daytona is a nice watch indeed, but over hyped and definitely over priced
much prefer the TT version just like the one JJ posted or the grey dial TT, but then again, each person has different taste... |

I concur...beautiful watch
I picked one up about 6 months ago. A series, black face. Yes, at times the watch is difficult to read, but I think that's due more to my recent need for reading glasses (too many years of sitting in front of a computer) than to the watch itself. Granted, it will never be as easy to read as a Sub or Explorer, but this is still a legible watch. I had a SD for 10 years before I sold it (essentially traded for a mint vintage 1016, but that's another story), then I saw this beauty and had to pull the trigger. MUCH more comfortable to wear than the SD, and it fits under a shirt cuff.
pic of actual watch courtesy of nbtimes, the person I purchased the watch from. |
