Lucky jeans for me. I buy them at nordstroms rack where they are much more reasonably priced, $50 give or take. When a good pair of Levi's started costing more than $30 it was time to switch.

Lucky jeans for everyday, comfortable and durable enough. They also come in variety of styles and colors. For casual dress and going out I wear Kiton jeans, handmade and can't beat them.

He's a somewhat related question... Are jean jackets making a comeback? I have a great one from high school that still fits and is broken in perfectly. Would love to get to wear it again. Granted there are only 5 days a year one needs a jacket in Houston...

This is a major discussion! We need lots of data.

And more interesting than US political discussions these days...

As long as you don't wear it with jeans, I say no problem...

LOL.

It's one of these: "we're going to build a wall around those jeans" or "the jeans should make an appointment to see me through our foundation".

Unless you are going for the construction worker look.

I am 34 at the waist and 32 inseam. I generally get 34-34's and take my chances. Usually I have to cuff them (which I don't mind doing) and wear a belt, which I generally always do anyway. But today wearing these nautica ones I have the belt way tight because I'm tired of pulling them up!

How am I supposed to run with a stolen TV with my pants around my ankles?! Not cool!

That's a big fluctuation through the course of the year. Hopefully it's to drop weight classes when you've dominated the circuit.

I am a Levi's wearer, but agree they are not what they used to be and have turned into crap. I am going to order a pair from this company and try them. Made in the USA in Tennessee and about 50 bucks for a pair. OP, maybe check out their site.

Gusset looks pretty good too!

I don't see any info on their material, so no selvage it seems. But they look like quality and I appreciate they are made in TN.

Nope just lazy in the winter and active in the summer. Plus I make alot of food in the winter, and eat alot of meat. Meant to type 20 pounds but I move from a 30-33waist throughout the year most years since early high school. This past year its been much more stable though haven't moved from a 32 in almost a year.

I suppose I could try a pair of the 505's as well.

Now did you go with dry/raw ones and if so, how much did they shrink (waist and length) for you? I think I want to go dry and wear and wash at work until they look "right" and then retire them to leisure wear duty. I think the "honest" wear is generally a better look.
My 505s are raw, but they're also sanforized so they won't shrink when they're washed. Keep that in mind (sanforized vs unsanforized) when you're buying raw denim. LVC does tend to run pretty big in my experience, though. I had to size down on all of mine.

hi Jim. have a look at the lvc 201 1917? model. some great features but very loose fitting so probably not your style but good for a look out of interest. J.

Have you tried on 7 for all Mankind?
They have so many different cuts and for $250-$300 it's quality on par with the $600+ jeans. I still have a pair from 2007 that I just won't let go.

My second suggestion would be Joes jeans. Very high quality for the $$$

After a working lifetime in a tuxedo and a uniform, I seldom wear long pants unless I'm going someplace where wearing shorts would embarrass my wife. Or when I'm riding my motorcycle.

When I do need to wear jeans, I wear these. Great quality, best price ever!

Hell yea! But not with the same washes. light or dark jeans with my medium blue trucker jacket, don't go for a full one colour denim suit.

There's nothing wrong with a nice denim suit.

RRL is top of the line. Get the one wash selvedge. I'm over the pure raw denim stuff.

I was never into the pure raw denim and not even into RRL Once washed selvedge denim. Pre-distressed all the way for me. I prize the handwork/distressing that goes into these pieces. The cost is definitely justified. I don't wear denim enough to be able to accomplish this. Minor distressing and hand repairing is my style. Majorly destroyed pieces are not my style.

I find Dior Homme jeans to fit best on me. I also find APC Denim to be great bang per buck.

RO Denim and Balmain Biker jeans are great if you're going for an edgier look as well.
