![]() Dammit Omega, must you always ruin it... It's only saving grace for me is if the other hand(minute) is also arrow shaped which I doubt. Sorry, tribute or not, but one arrow shaped hand looks retarded or oddball. Oh well. Guess the 114060 it is. |

They've also offered sword hands on other "iconic" dive watches. I would have preferred they us that watch as inspiration. With that said, I don't mind the arrow hands - it's nice when Omega is purely Omega.

Once upon a time the Speedmaster used broad arrow hands as well
I like the hands, the fake patina is the deal breaker for me. So uninspiring. Have to agree, can't warm up to the case |

I like Omega well enough, though I have some issues with the company and their US service network, but I guess I'm a "Rolex > Omega" guy at heart. Even so, I still can't bring myself to purchase any modern Rolex diver.
When it comes to modern divers, I think Omega is making Rolex look positively uninspired in comparison (fake lume and all). The only thing holding me back from buying a Ti PO is the clasp - if the clasp on this new watch filters to the other divers I'm sold. On edit: I don't consider the otherwise cool DSSD since it's far too large for my wrist. |

Omega is putting Liquid Metal on there only to motivate a higher price point, possibly on par with Rolex 114060, which is what these days, $7,500. This one will be at least $6,500, maybe a bit more.
Finally Omega is getting in the game with adjustable clasp. The problem is that they need to retrofit it to all current sport models because the cal 85xx and 93xx sport watches are in need of adjustable clasps badly. Oh well, the jury is out, I do think this is a watch that will stand on its own. Let's just hope it is 42mm or less. |

I'm thinking more than a bit more now. Probably will creep into the $8K range |

If Omega has a patent or copyright on it, it's going into this watch. If they keep it under $8K and it has a date (it doesn't look like it does but they could have a separate model) I might have to rethink my plans on getting an Aqua Terra with the 8508 movement and switch to this instead. Of course, that's assuming it comes in at a reasonable size. |

I like that it will have an anti-magnetic movement. I do not like the clear case back. Not for a dive watch, anyway.

Such a fail.
I had a few worries when I first saw the teaser. To quote myself from another thread "there are many many ways for Omega to screw this up: XL size, saphire back, 18 mm thick, fake patina". Two out of four so far ![]() |

Well, their CEO said that all new movements would have anti-magnetic functionality, which really doesn't add much to the complexity or price in manufacturing but Swatch Group will, in their own mind, be able to raise the MSRP. It is all part of a strategy to try to elevate margins to a Rolex level.
The display back is just stupid marketing-schmarketing because a) these movements aren't much to look at, and b) it adds to the thickness of the watch. I was hoping Omega would come to their senses and skip that on a re-issue model, but not joy. I was very glad to see the lack of date function as it possibly would make the case less thick, but then they go and use the display-back. Price will more than likely be north of $7,250 MSRP, ergo Rolex 114060 territory, and I'm sure some MBA-executives will get an extra bonus for finally achieving price-parity with Rolex, which has been a 3-5 project for Omega/Swatch Group. |

At least discounts are still available. Just wait until Omega manages to ape the Rolex "no discounts" policy. It's going to be a sad sad day when you have to pay $8,600 for a Ti PO!
