All is well but what bothers me is replacing the OEM bezel and dial of the 116610LN with fake parts. What is stopping you to do this with other unsuspecting or not so knowledgeable clients? It would not be caught until the watch goes in for a service to RSC.
We all remember the debacle of “horologyhouse” right?

I would not wear or do that to a watch I own. I prefer to wear what I can afford and not try to make something pass for something it is not. I think it tells a lot about a person who misrepresents an item to be something that it is not.

Yeah. I asked him if he'd actually owned a Tudor and if could provide some insightful opinions on why he didn't care for them. Of course he never responded. Nothing worse than when someone offers an inane opinion with no experience to back it up. There are definitely members on here who have owned Tudors who express concerns mostly regarding the bracelet (fake rivets and lack of quick adjust) but otherwise praise the design and movement. Overall it seems like a great watch, especially for the price.

OP, are you concerned that you have potentially compromised your integrity as a watch dealer by going public with this modified watch on a worldwide forum? The fact that the watch has been fitted with FAKE, not "aftermarket" parts may hurt you as a businessman in the future. I can personally say I would think twice about doing business with you after seeing the watch and this thread. It might be a bit different if the dial and insert were OEM Rolex parts. But they are not.

So weird these responses as if they don’t modify their homes, cars, or clothes to be something different than the maker intended.

OP, I understand that you want to please your client. And you did so by giving him the "look" he wanted at a greatly reduced price than it would have cost to buy the same configuration straight from Rolex. Look is the same.
I'm curious, would you feel differently if this was a Kermit? If a customer liked the "look" of the Kermit and wanted to save some money, would you take their 5 digit sub and put aftermarket LV dial, hands and bezel on it? It would give the customer the "look" he wanted, and also save him a ton of money. Would this situation be any different in your eyes? Or just giving the customer what he wants while saving them money. In the second hypothetical situation, the customer is honest, and would not be trying to sell the watch as a Kermit or do anything unethical like that. The watch would be purely for the customer's enjoyment. The customer just likes the look, but doesn't want to pay Kermit prices. |

"Aftermarket" parts? NO way. Starts blurring the lines between fake and authentic to me.

I like the looks, but I personally wouldn't want it. I have no issue with owners modifying their watches to suit their own likes and desires, but to me this is creating a fake. I understand it is still a real Rolex, but by the definition of "fake" it is trying to make something appear to be what it isn't.
I owned the real deal for several years but grew tired of having a watch that garnered so much attention so I traded it. (Not gonna lie, that may have been a mistake) |

Smurf look at SS Sub price?
Or you could get a smurf “look” with a two-tone Sub with the flat blue dial... for around the (grey) market price of a SS sub

The aftermarket parts makes this is a tough one for me. If the conversion was done with OEM dial and bezel, I would wear it even if some people thought I was faking having a 116619.

Making changes like that makes the genuine watch into a Fugazi. If you can’t justify the price, just leave it at that.

The smurf/ss sub conversion is different in my eyes because one is solid gold while the other is clearly much lighter to the touch and could not be passed as an original. It also comes down to the client. This is a very rare instance that we have ever converted a watch but I know this client well and know he would never try to dupe someone with it. He simply thought the look would be cool and thats what he wanted. |
