Mine changes everyday. The more I think about it I can critique and need to change it. But currently:

Rolex BLNR
Rolex DaytonaC
Rolex DD 40 YG
Lange 1815 chrono wg
Langematik Perpetual

I know two chronographs seems over the top in a 5 watch collection, but they are very different.

What’s your perfect 5 piece collection.

Just take the 5 watches you adore the most and that you can afford.
These categories are useless.
How do you define a SS Daytona?
It‘s a chronograph, it’s a sports watch, it‘s fine to wear it with a suit, it‘s fine everywhere.
All watches are GADA watches as long as you as a person can pull it of.

Plus a Speedmaster which I haven’t bought yet. If I’m serious and hopefully I will be one day that’s all I need.

PS This isn’t counted and will also never be sold. The Submariner of G Shocks, the legendary GW5000.

1) Rolex BLNR
2) AP RO Chrono
3) Patek Nautilus 5740/1G perpetual calendar
4) FP Journe Chronometre a Resonance
5) Rolex OP39 white (on a tan/ beige suede strap)

Of the above I can really only afford 1 and 5, and realistically can only hunt down 5. Its a long road ahead, but hey, dreams are free!

Realistically, as follows...

1. Patek Nautilus 5990 (got)
2. Royal Oak 15300 (got)
3. Royal Oak Offshore 26480 (waiting collection)
4. Rolex Daytona 116519 LN (got)
5. Rolex Sea Dweller 116600 (got)

So I’m pretty much done in terms of my perfect five within the amount of cash I’m happy to have tied up.

If cash wasn’t a constraint...

1. Vacheron Patrimony Minute Repeater
2. Patek 5270P
3. Richard Mille 67-02
4. Royal Oak Offshore 26582 CE
5. Rolex Platona

I think 3 watches is the max amount for all you need for a Key Collection.
My Key collection would be the classic Omega Speedmaster & Black Rolex Submariner for a everyday watch which are also Sports watches and I’d love to own the Everose gold Day date 40 with green dial which would be my dress watch / Grail piece ! That would be personally all I would need for a key collection but if I had to add 2 more I would Add a Aquanuat & Nautilus SS models just to switch it up a notch.

Here's my "fab five."

Bezels are all different from each other. Each has its own little "functions." Relatively low overlap- in fact, the only overlap I see is the Patek & Breitling's numbers/strap, and the GMT and Daytona's brand. Not bad for 5 watches.

I'm still trying to figure some of that out. I've been slowly trying to refine what I own, but this is probably where I'd like to be with 5 watches:
Traveler: ExpII (own)
Diver: Omega SMP 300 (own)
Dress: GO Panoreserve (own)
Chrono: Not sure (own a TH Monza at the moment, but will be looking to sell it at some point)
Beater: Not sure (own a Seiko prospex which is great, but too big. Sometimes I think another but smaller Seiko would work and other times I think I'd like a Weiss field watch)

Omega Speedmaster Professional (currently own)
Rolex Explorer 1 (next purchase)
Rolex GMT Master (maybe someday)
LeCoultre Master Memovox (Might go the vintage route here)

Honorable Mention: PP Aquanaut
