Rolex is a really grand brand but if you ask me AP is another league . . .

Don't own one yet but like the AP ROO 57th Street . . . . . breaks my heart each time I see it . . .

Just my .02

I am with you, definitely a different league. I would probably have every ROOC that they make if money wasn't an object!

I have an AP ROO Panda and a DSSD currently. I can try shoot some pics tonight if you'd like? Not sure it would be good comparison for you though?

Thank you for the offer, however its going to be some time before I can add an AP. Probably a few years! I'm thinking my next piece is going to be a Breitling Navitimer 1461 48mm. I have at least a dozen watches circling around in my head.

No kidding, it never ends! Every week I have a new love, sort of like highschool, every week I was dreamy about a new girl.

One of my favorite things to do is window shop for watches. If it wasn't for the internet it would be much harder for me to do considering I live in Maine and we only have Rolex. If have to travel to at least Boston for any other high end brands.

I've had the DSSD and an AP steel diver and an AP Forged Carbon diver. All of these are great watches. All have something to offer. As much as I liked the DSSD I didn't like the way it felt on my wrist. It's very top heavy and you need the narrow bracelet adjusted several times a day to offset the head of the watch from shifting around and cutting into my wrist. As for Rolex divers the DSSD is my favourite watch. The 40mm divers are too small for my taste.

Now the AP feels and looks very different. I happen to really appreciate these watches but they aren't for everyone's taste. But, they are certainly appreciated by most. My suggestion is to try them all on and then make a decision. One or the other will certainly ring out.

I had a DS and loved it (minus the doomed crystal). I am currently on my 2nd AP, and I've been totally bitten by the AP bug. aP Diver would be my choice.

Even though the DSSD is not on my consideration list, it looks way better than the AP diver! Having higher craftsmanship and a better "engine" would not sway me away from saying the DSSD would be my choice out of the two.

AP Diver is better meets the eye, and DSSD has better tech specs....
