Good on WUS. I agree, and need to check that forum out more than I have.

I just wish that the OP would have put the big boy pants on and admitted that he was taken. Gone to the "reputable jeweler" which I would guess does not exist and demanded a refund. Or at least took this POS off of the market for good. And while I would NEVER EVER condone this activity it is always buyer beware with every purchase you make on the secondary market.

I for one don't care and understand the OP's position. Buyers need to be cautious!

Again I apologize if what I have written has been offensive, but I will say that anyone who reads this thread and is in the market for a vintage Rolex will most likeky do more research.

your first post made it look like you were defensing the OP for pawning the fake off on somebody else. His story was clearly bogus. The watch is a complete piece of junk and i had a hard time finding ONE Authentic part on it

But im glad he posted the thread here because now we have got it removed off Ebay and the Other forum.

Hello:

I am a new member on this forum (paid my pledge not to pretend I am expert but to give back to the value I have received from this Forum), so far I have gotten uninterested advice and help from many other members, both in public threads and private messages.

This advice has helped me to grow in knowledge, I am impressed by the passion that many of the people in this Forum have on this hobby. This thread makes me think what makes a "community", with people that share a "common interest" or "goal". Part of the rules of being part of a community, is to abide by certain rules of honesty and decency, people that do not abide by such rules MUST be removed.

To pretend that someone needs to be wary when dealing with other members of such a community tells me that, a) either I don't belong, b) or that people that do not abide by such rules should be removed from this Forum. I greatly enjoy reading the posts from many members (Marcelo, Vincent, Beaumont Miller, Tools, Greekbum, the irreverent Queue Cumber, and many others, etc, etc). People I don't know, but from whom I have profited in knowledge.

I may not be a vintage expert, but I have enough experience to give this opinion. The act of this "member" of posting a watch that he knows to be either a fake, or at the very least, something different to what is being portrayed to a potential buyer (knowledgable buyer or not is irrelevant), is an act of fraud no matter how you view it.

This are my two cents, if any of you had taken the time to read it so far, I hope that this gives you a sense that you have something of true value in this Forum, and as such its integrity must be protected.

Best.

Javier

I may have added a negative light to this thread, and for that I apologize to all.

When I wrote the first post I thought the case and movement were real. However throughout this thread I truly tried to emphasize that it's important for people to check up on watches they are considering purchasing by posting pictures and asking question.

OP is clearing now committing fraud. As a person that just got bent over by a major AD on a Tudor Sub, I am very sensitive to this subject. OP's story is bunk from the start or he would have done what I did and returned the watch. As a rookie vintage rolex fanatic that got duped, the LAST thing i was thinking about was turning a profit.

Curiousity #1 How do you "lose" an oyster bracelet on a sub, and in a matter of days no less!

Curiousity #2 Who in the world pimps a jubilee on a vintage sub as preferable?

Curiousity #3 Who "unknowingly" buys a parts watch, then says "aw shucks" and marks it up 100% on another forum?

Curiosity #4 OP said himself that comps on this watch priced it around 6k, so why is he asking 8100??

The beauty of all this is that you guys (the experts) put OP on notice, thus he cannot say in a court of law that he was "unknowingly" committing fraud.

This whole thread was a fishing expedition for OP to find out good (or bad) his fake watch was valued by the TRF experts and how much he can get away with on the open market.

I really enjoy coming to threads like these where you can see the development of the antagonist, his plot and through the amazing wealth of knowledge that many people on TRF have (I am obviously not one of them as I have a lot to learn) his plan gets smashed into pieces. Ultimately curbing his activity here, on WUS as well as having his listing on eBay pulled.

Great read, amazing job and excellent outcome.

This is funny.

- I was almost banned from this forum calling the Daytona feminine
- OP being a fraud is still live 'n' kicking

Where is the logic in that? Have no idea.
