Personally I don't really fancy the yellow gold, for some of the reasons already mentioned in this thread such as the image and so on.

In fact a few weeks ago my father and I wear at the AD (he is a wis as well), and I was very interested in the WG watches. On the other hand my dad who is in his mid 50's feel in love with a yellow gold president.

I was have a convo with the sales lady at the AD and she confirmed y suspicions on PM rolex, according to her PM's are for older men and, stainless steel for older man, she was kind of implying that I should go for a stainless steel as I am in my mid 20's

Having that said, I'd say hell to people and get what I want. Even after the AD's comments I want to get WG rolex because I love it, and i personally feel like YG screams for a lot of attention at my age. But who knows, my taste my change in 20 years. lol

I have not changed the way I am. I very rarely get asked about either of these pieces. I would not say they fly under the radar either.

Dunno what some of you guys are talking about. I wear my gold rollie all the time with my gold necklace and earrings. Mackin' hoes with the top down. Women think I'm fly...

What a stunning pair!

I rarely have mine noticed either, that's why I have now bought a bell.

well I love YG watches and have worn them for many many years with no problems ever

but I must admit my personal taste evolved (changed) once I got a Platinum watch. I now prefer it to YG and WG for me personally. still love the YG and still own the WG.

I now currently have no YG, for no particular reason, just kinda happened?

Boils down to personal preference, I guess.

In agreement that the "level" of comments against yellow gold does not seem warranted, as again, the choice of watch boils down to personal perference. Arguably, a question/comment could be made for those who choose to "fly under the radar" to just wear stainless steel instead. Personal preference.

Yellow gold is a timeless look. For whatever reason, it does not appeal to some people. I would just wear what brings you happiness and leave it at that.

I have found that people who can afford it like it. People who can't afford gold don't like it. Just my personal observations.

I love the look of YG Rolex's but they're not for me, far to flashy IMHO.

Not only do I wear my 18238 as a daily beater, but treat her like a Rolex should be treated, in the water, spa, etc. So yes, YG Rollies work for me! lol

Interesting can't say I recall seeing strong comments against YG Rolex here. Sure I have seen a few but very few in comparison to those who love.

Agreed. Could someone link to some of the possibly mythical multitude of "strong comments" on TRF?
