Another endorsement here for the rubber NATO. I got this from watch gecko. As you can see, there's a bit of excess strap on my scrawny 6.5 inch wrist, but it doesn't bother me enough to trim it. The excess just about reaches past the spring bar if I were to hold it down.

Is there plain black or is it the sandblasted black? My eyes can't tell and I want the black....

That is just the style of buckle. The polished buckle isn't available on the 20mm strap it seems. The strap is true black.

I'm trying to find something for a kayak marathon (and associated training). Nylon's OK, but I don't like the retained wetness in mucky water.

Was just about to order one of these 20mm 328s; but noticed, unlike a 298, the 328 buckle appears to have a springbar in it.
[When the entire purpose of a G10 strap is watch security, that would be show-stoppingly counter-intuitive! :( ]

Are my eyes deceiving me?!

No, your eyes are fine. But I'd expect the rubber to tear way before a spring bar would fail anyway.

Thanks for the confirmation Dan (although, I would have the opposite expectation! :) :) )

Some of you might be interested in this:
I was put off the 328 by the springbar buckle. A bit of googling found Yellowdogwatchstraps. I ordered a slightly weird bespoke: I wanted the buckle tab sewn externally and 2 ring rather than G10. Alex (of Yellowdog) also sewed the 2 rings slightly loose than normal for me.
First impressions: he's produced exactly what I wanted!

Looks cool. I purchased a rubber strap once in Amazon not sure the brand but it smelled like vanilla. Huge turn off for me. No need for a strap to smell like vanilla. Weird.

Yellowdog rubber nato. Very light, comfortable and flexible.

Just got a BC 328 for my BlackBay and it's great in pretty much every department ! Great finish, quality feel, incredibly comfortable, top notch hardware, but..........

Why did they have to use so much Vanilla essence on it !!!! I need to find a way to tone it down because it is just too much !!!

(Because they don't fool me for a moment ! this is plain cooking-variety vanilla essence that was added for nostalgia purposes !)

Any thoughts on how well this strap holds up over time?

Which one? I have the BC version and it is really good. But it holds in sweat/moisture, so I will stick with nylon natos. They dry really fast.

I own 2 BC natos, one for close to two years. It's wearing just like it did when purchased. I intend to buy more for my 20mm lug watches.

That looks great! Have you guys heard of Rubber B? It's a rubber strap that I'm looking to get for my GMT master. Any advice on it would be greatly appreciated!
