I personally feel a 5711 shows great taste, refinement and someone that values subtle elegance. Personal opinion here and I have watches that are more complicated and more expensive. |

That said, that's not the common definition of "statement piece" when people usually use that phrase. If it was, then we'd use "statement piece" as a phrase to describe literally anything used to make a specific kind of statement (i.e., "I'm cool," "I'm rich," "I'm classy," "I'm an idiot," "I'm a prick," etc). :) |

Randomly, while we're on the subject of Kevin O'Leary:

I'd have to work really, really, really hard to be able to spend $1k/day on food consistently. Rest of the article here. |

I can spend $1k in *one* day on food... But not consistently every day.

1k per day is not a big amount if he has all 3 business meals in expensive places and takes all the bills. Due to work I often attend such business lunches/dinners and one lunch/dinner could easily cost 500 USD or more for 3-4 persons.

He reminds me a lot of Trump, massive over exaggerated comments.
Shouldn’t he be in position where people are taking him out and not the other way around? The only way you consistently spend $200 on breakfast is if you’re eating in 5* hotels. Spending $800 on lunch + dinner implies massive over ordering or a decent wine budget, all of which would get really old after awhile not to mention the health consequences of doing that for only a month let alone a year! The article is just going to buoy up the market even further.
I dunno. It feels completely insane. I got 5167 at my AD so feel pretty secure even if the bubble pops badly. Whatever. I enjoy wearing the watch. It’s beautifully thin which I have only recently come to really appreciate in a watch. The finishing is lovely and I love having the watch. However at these prices I’m considering a flip for a 5164 (at retail) but then again. I just love this piece. On the topic of Kevin. Eh. I respect he has done well for himself. Very much so but come on. Those bright red straps he throws on everything. So garish and it hurt the eyes haha

Unless I missed this in the article...
The article was focused on SS PP. What about as mentioned earlier in this tread with reference to Rolex - what about PM PP sport watach? Again, unless I missed something there should be no problem obtaining a 5711/1R yet there is. I believe this is a stunning timepiece. Less than two years ago one sat in the dealer showcase for months. Now I am waiting...
