I did just that today. Spent $6200 on a beautiful Air King. I get it on Saturday.

I’d pick up a Speedy Pro (Hesalite) on a bracelet and a bunch of aftermarket straps. Vintage leather, racing, NATO. That thing is the ultimate strap monster. You could have the look of 5-6 different watches for under $6k. And well under $6k if you pick up a pre-owned.

$6,000 USD to spend on a watch

I’d get the Nomos Ahoi 41mm and pocket the rest!

New Grand Seiko or The Citizen Chronomaster. This watch is a work of art, AND you just set it and forget it.

Among so many options. I prefer new, but best value says used. There really are great watches available at every price point.

Stretch a bit for an Air King or get an OP.

You could probably buy both of these for $6000 (total) having done the right homework.

Off the top of my head, either a 36mm Explorer or that Tudor BB58 at 39mm (I think that is the right size).

Definitely a speedy pro and a few NATO straps and an adjustable clasp for me. It’s my daily and my 5-yr old son happens to like it too.

I had Panerai before Rolex, and still love them. I would find a nice Base Zero with the ETA movement (not the new one). For me its one of the best Panerai regardless of price.

Omega speedy or PO. Also Zenith El Primiro. Both can be had for 20% off MSRP.

I love how some assume that everyone actually wants a $15,000 Rolex even if they ask for a reccomendation in the $300 range. That $6000 can get you almost any Grand Seiko at an AD who discounts, and several do and gladly sell over the phone.

This.

With the new pricing they are essentially the same price. I've had both models and if it were me I'd go Explorer all day long. Such a classic.
