Perhaps the timepiece industry needs to create its own currency for purchasing timepieces. The Swiss would be great at starting a new currency
Currencies is not the major reason, it cannot account for doubling the price.

RR basically moved prices according to what he thinks the market will pay, similar to what Dufour did with his latest run.

Agree it might not be a 'major' reason, yet we can agree the ongoing very high currency devaluation did have a factor in pricing never-the-less. It's what the 'market will bare'... considering the ease of currency creation and availability of today is directly reflected in pricing / what consumers are willing to pay.

I would absolutely charge more in his shoes. Raise sufficient revenue to be competitive in the paying of his skilled employees I would think. I would hazard they probably still command 3x on secondary. If you aren’t doing volume it only makes sense.

Latest interview with Mr Rexhepi. Interesting to know about his new workshop, plans for the next 8 to 9 years, his love for both the AK and classic lines, and a lot of videography on the properly stunning RRCCII, front and back.

Wonderful! Also love his youthful exuberance. There's a long and bright future for the new younger generation of watchmakers

Good thing he is very young, ridiculously talented and passionate about in his work. I'm more hopeful of getting his watch(es) given the longer runway ahead of us.

Same for me. I found out about the brand way too late and didn’t express interest fast enough. I’m pretty sure I’ll never be able to get one. I’ve said this numerous times already but I selfishly wish the hype on independents would die down a little. I just wanna be able to get a few watches I’ve lusted after.

Chronometre Contemporain REXHEP REXHEPI

Can anyone really confirm they got an allocation for the RRCCII? Like placed a deposit or got an official email.

I am adoring this version.

I suspect he heard you. The latest retail price I saw is S$200,000 (or U$149k). Is that what you see at your AD too?

Ouch! I guess I won't worry about getting on an allocation. Beautiful watch though.
