With the introduction of the MK2, I'm fairly confident that the original MK1 in NIB condition will increase in value to at least $50k USD by the end of the year.
Just not quite sure yet, by the end of what year. |

My thoughts on the bezel are who cares. If you have one, great. But the orignal is the Kermit, and the most special of them all is the Hulk. Nothing beats that green dial. It is electric in the light.

Does this mean my MK1 is now worth a bazillion dollars since it is now ‘discontinued’ and ‘rare’?

But to be fair, the YouTube guys desperately need all the help they can get. The more verbose, the better for clickbait LOL

My AD said they were told there is an update, per their release notes from Rolex.

Come on the old LV is way better! I even had it and messed up and traded it in and can admit it! Congrats to those that still own.

If I was a guessing man, Rolex did this for resale reasons.
A normal Submariner date is around $14,000. A Cermit is $18,000+ So essentially all you need to do is throw a Hulk bezel on a Black sub and you increase the value $4-5k. Now the Hulks green is only on the Hulk watches and the Cermit has its on green which also matches the original reference better imo. |

Submariner LV, MK1 MK2 side by side Pics...
I’m really glad for the change. I owned a hulk and loved the dial, but the bezel was too washed out. I said the same of the release in 2020.
This is a big improvement in my book. I will probably pursue this one. Now, if they would just bring back the green sunburst dial… |

the question is, are normal people(we are obviously not!) capable of noticing the difference between the old and new bezel?

But that poses the question... Would a "normal person", or even a casual watch afficionado who was on the list for and received the "green bezel Sub" even have a clue that this watch is different from the one he expressed interest in? Even me (and I know watches pretty well). I've never seen an LV in person, just pics. I love the watch and have been on the list for about a 10 months. If no one informed me of the change and I got the call to pick one up, I could easily see myself saying, "Wow that's a little lighter hue than most of the LV's I've admired on TRF. Weird how the camera lighting does that". I'm not sure I would be like, "WTF , that's not the LV!!!". |

Having taking the picture myself and handling both watches. I can positively only us hardcore Rolex guys would know the difference.
If this was that big a change then Rolex would have changed the reference # Sent from my SM-S916W using Tapatalk |

I’ve got the mk1 and I prefer it.
I don’t get why they didn’t just make it as the mk1 bezel in the first place especially if it’s to be a continuation of the original 16610LV |
