A friend of mine got on the list on March 9th and got the call on March...18th.
It seems that the SD43 is quiet easy to obtain.

This picture is similar to the first one I posted in this thread, except you will see this one has a few onlookers in the background.

In the states, one of my ADs has a very long waitlist for it and for all the Seadwellers for that matter.

My friend picked up his watch on Thursday and the AD told him the SD43 might be discontinued next year. Has anyone been told the same or heard the rumor as well?

I wore subs daily for years and they are probably the ultimate dive watch in a way, however the SD is so special it is the one I would not sell. The new 41mm sub is kind of a mix between the old sub and the SD43.

Let me join this "club".

I spent 4 or 5 month reading TRF, watching Youtube, trying to decide WHAT I want more - SubND or SD43. It was so hard to make a choise and I still do not know is this choice absolutely right. But here it is:

Poured a dram of Glendronach to celebrate my divorce and Rolex as a gift for it :)

Congrats of the SD43, and the divorce for that matter! You made the right call, the SD43 is more exclusive than the ND, will likely eventually be discontinued and just a more dynamic, less ubiquitous piece IMHO.

I've been waiting nearly a year, and that's with a lengthy purchase history.

I was very lucky on my piece. I was on vacation at the Hard Rock Hotel in Dominican Republic in July 2018. The Hotel had an AD there. Walked in and it was in the case along with a bluesy. At the time I just started looking for a black sub date not the sd43. The SA was trying to sell me the Bluesy instead. The sd43 looks like a sub so I tried it on for size and thought it was too big for me. Can you believe I was going to pass on it? I actually was walking out when the SA called me back and said she’ll sell it to me for $10,800. At the time the msrp was $11,300. Hard to believe this story if I didn’t have a copy of the receipt. I was new to Rolex collecting at the time so I was not aware of the ss shortage
