Ok stupid question but if you “pose” with the split second hands at 24 and 36 and leave them there is there something that is under tension? Meaning is it better for the watch to leave both back at 12 o’clock or doesn’t it matter?
Also I read somewhere that it was “ok” to leave the chronograph second hand constantly running as in the watch they were referring to that hand was on a “cylindrical column”. Can someone please explain what that means? |

If you split the timing hands (or just stop the chrono hands together that are not at the normal 12 position) and then leave them stopped from my understanding is that the chronograph is disengaged meaning it is no longer running so it shouldn't have a effect or 'tension' on the movement. You want to make sure you combine both hands back before resetting to avoid any issues though as one hand could get stuck and not return to 12 as you havent combined them back. |

A Collected Man has one for sale and asking £ 142,000. That is a massive hit. This watch deserves to do better in the secondary market and in my opinion this is one of the best Pateks produced in the last decade.

This is a fantastic watch. And I quite agree - it’s the best Patek they’ve made since the 5970. |

how are the black 5370p doing in the secondary market now versus the blue?
Am assuming blue 5370p is a request only piece? |

$180k at most for a new one dated 2020. I would only consider $170k if I really wanted to buy one.
Most grey dealers are reluctant to have this piece in their inventory though. It's extremely difficult to sell. |

Secondary market prices are not strong for the black at the moment and represent very good value. I reckon the blue will follow the same path |

With the MSRP for the new blue version £20k more than the black version was only 12 months ago the black version represents exceptional value currently on the used market - especially given the much greater depth of the black enamel dial.

Definitely a good time to buy those if one desires them. Better value than buying 5711 at 70k. |

Me thinks there is no need to rush. Current and recent refs may well drop a lot more. Many admire the beautiful 5370P but few are ready to buy, and even hard-to-get 5740/1G don't fly off the shelf preowned. Still above MSRP but sliding. On the flip side, some classic GCs from the 1980s to 2000s seem to have pretty much bottomed out and mostly at lower prices than current/recent refs.

I would love to go for one of these but it won’t work on my puny wrist.
My AD had one for a number of years. Sold immediately after it was discontinued. |

Just stunning, and thank you for sharing this rare piece from time to time with us :)
You have a new burgundy silver stitching strap, that is so different (black dials are very difficult to choose straps from). Enjoy your WE. PS: I can imagine you took 3 minutes to set the hands at that place while your friend was wondering what you were doing :p |

Absolutely love it.
Even better with burgundy strap. Russell - one thing which has kept me away is the size. My wrists are small. the 5070 I own is 42mm but somehow the compact lugs make is strangely wearable.. How does your 5370 wear - bigger or smaller than it's size suggests? |

This would also be a question I have. How does it wear against a Nautilus 5711 or a 40mm Sport Rolex? Is the crown size an issue? Thanks Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Well I don't like large watches myself, 41mm is a sweet spot for me in general. I would say it wears as a 41mm watch. Quote:
Crown isn't an issue at all and the centre actuation for the rattrapante is perfect. Some pics for comparison. |

Reviving Russell’s thread. My favorite new strap is a medium gray textured calf from Camille Fournet…
