As a BBN Rose owner, I will say that the 58 looks a bit...small.

If this came on the same distressed strap as its big brother, I might be sold. If I cross paths with near-identical third-party strap...

The reduction in height is a significant improvement which is the greatest weakness of its predecessors. However the gold marked bezel, shield, straight text, & riveted bracelet are less desirable to me than the ETA BBN's silver marked bezel, rose, smiley, and non-riveted bracelet.

I really liked the watch at the local Tudor event.....the gilt markings on the insert actually seemed fitting in real life...but I still think it'd be better without. The rep said something interesting. He says that Tudor prides themselves on creating watches for watch guys whereas Rolex decides for everyone what is "cool." In order to do this, he says the 58 is crafted from feedback from previous gens black bay feedbacks on forums that they read. He further said maybe new versions of the 58 and other watches may come and it's up to us giving them feedback on forums that they regularly peruse. I thought it was very interesting also he said they previously were going to have limited editions in the US also like a modern covered blue snowflake diver before it was called off.

Wonder why they stopped short of lug holes They went all in on the vintage queues, chamfers, gilt, no crown guards, large crown, rivets...
Why??? |

If Tudor stick with this theme and make more watches like this type they’ll be selling them by the bucket load to all of us that love the vintage Rolex look. It’s quite exciting to me as I’d love an old sub but the crazy prices and absolute mine field of trying to find one that’s legit make things a nightmare. The thought of being able to get a fresh, unmolested watch that looks this good to have as a long term partner is great. |

Absolutely fantastic. This is everything a Rolex Submariner should be (Smaller, classically shaped case; thin, domed crystal and beveled lugs). Absolutely glorious and in my eyes, this one is miles more attractive and probably way more wearable than a modern Submariner. Home run!

I somehow completely missed this watch....wow looks amazing. As others have said, I'd prefer the rose logo over the shield. Just more classic and timeless looking. I may have to take a hard look at this on the leather strap! Thanks for sharing.

oddly enough, I thought exactly the same when the BB58 was launched... just 1 feature short of greatness. I was thinking, they did the pinholes on the BB Bronze, why couldn't they do the same for the 58?
